CrazyJoe 0
I know Lindgren, Cunningham and Hellmuth have been explained, but there are a few others I was surprised to not see on the list like:Johnny Chan (reaaaaly surprised, where is he at?)Greg RaymerDave Ulliot (and the rest of the Hendon Mob)Sam FarhaHoward LedererChip Reesethere's obviously some others, but I was surprised these guys weren't there, especially Chan. Also, is there "buy-ins" for this, or are all the players just getting paid by the network? that seems like they would have to drop ALOT of dough if that's the case. showstopper24 0
on a thread in general, someone said that each player is getting 340k for entering. i don't think this is acurate beacuse that would be over 21 million for all 64 players.i was more surprised not to see Reese because of the cash game format

Naked_Cowboy 0
Cool. I hope he does well. For some reason, I want to see him lose. Either way, I'm excited about him playing, although I'd rather see him in a mixed game format.
Highlow16 0
Prahlad Friedman would be my pick. Hes a better NL cash game play than 65 percent of the players. Not an exact figure of course but I think it may be close.
DanielNegreanu 141
Lederer is going to be playing in season 3 of HSP. Uh.... nope. Don't know where you heard that one.

CrazyJoe 0
Uh.... nope. Don't know where you heard that one.i didnt think so either, i thought he was just playing in the "european" one, but there are a few sites reporting he is going to play on HSP3, but they probably all got their info from pokernews, why would they have that info wrong? socalpoker_j 1
Uh.... nope. Don't know where you heard that one.Read it on a thread about HSP 3 from 2+2 and a link they had on PokerNews. Is Jamie Gold going to be playing, there was a "rumor" that he was in on HSP and Lederer was out?
Shizzmoney 0
i thought he (Lederer) was just playing in the "european" oneYeah he is, it's Full Tilt Pros like Matusow and Seidel (He talks about a big hand in this vs Erik) playing with 100K behind them.Info here: http://www.pokerchannel.co.uk/index.php?pg...ed%21&ind=

socalpoker_j 1
If the below is true about Ivey playing on HSP 3, this will be the best season ever IMO with the level of talent on the show. gwailo84 0
I saw the draft results on Daniel's blog and I'm curious... no Phil Hellmuth? no Johnny Chan? I am wondering what happened with those guys. It was also interesting to see that Annie Duke, Chris Ferguson and Phil Gordon were involved but no Howard Lederer, Bloch, Raymer or Hachem... too busy with the lawsuit or not invited because of the lawsuit?I am also happy to see that Chris "one hit wonder" Moneymaker is not involved. Has anybody ever milked anything, for so long with so little follow up success? I mean Raymer was incredible in his return to the WSOP as defending champ, so was Hachem... I am quite happy for Chris' success, but I am tired of seeing him first to the rail on TV all the time (see poker superstars, II, III, etc.) and then on every commercial in between...What players are not in the PPL which either surprised you, or you wish were involved? ButTheyWereSuited.com 0
I have been reading Barry's posts on the qualifications of players for the PPL. I understand that they have issues with marketability of each player however I think they have made a bad call by neglecting some of the best players in the world who are of Asian decent. I have seen Daniel Negreanu write for years of the strengths of the Asian Players. How can you tell me that David "The Dragon" Pham, J.C. Tran, Tim Phan, Minh Nguyen, An "The Boss" Tran, Tony Ma, Minh Ly, CK Hua, John Phan ( and the list could go on) dont have a place in the PPL? I understand that a lack of English may seem to be an issue for the PPL, but maybe they should look at the NBA and how they have marketed Yao Ming. The Asian market is the fastest growing market in the world and it is also the biggest markets when it comes to gambling. Why do you think the Venetian and the Wynn are spending billions of dollars in Asia and why most casinos spend millions of dollars on marketing towards Asian clientele? I realize that they have included a few great Asian players, but I am wondering why some of these names aren’t included.
