Timinator99 0
It seems there is a WPT North American Championship event (US) and a WPT Canadian Open Poker Championship for the Niagara WPT.I know Daniel has stated he will play this WPT event but can/will he play both?I think I read somewhere that you have to be a Canadian citizen to play the Canadian Open one.Anyone know for sure? 13CARDS 0
You do not have to be Canadian to play in the Canadian Poker Open, the same as you would not have to be British to play in the PGA's British Open.A large contingent of Canadian-born poker pros are expected/confirmed for the WPT events in October. There has also been a tremendous response from online satellites. On those sites that are offering a choice of WPT events remaing for this tour year, a HUGE precentage of winners are taking the Canadian WPT prize; the usual $12,000 USD prize is enough for the winner to enter both Canadian WPT events and leaves them with spending money! Timinator99 0
Has the forum fact checked confirmed this ?I thought I definitely read that in the rules but I can't seem to find that any longer. You can find the rules for the Canadian Event here - http://www.casinoniagara.com/?SiteID=Casin...cription+Events and the actual rules here - http://www.casinoniagara.com/?SiteID=Casin...D=Rules_WPT_PDFI may have read the "required government official photo ID" to mean valid Canadian Citizenship for some reason. Although I'm pretty sure I read something about citizenship somewhere. In any event I don't see why they would limit to just Canadians so I would suspect anyone can get in.For those coming up from Florida or anywhere else I would make sure of this though.
