FourFlusher 0
Limit, a rack...$100 is good for 2/4 and 3/6. It's a little much for 2/4, but it will serve you well. You can take back what you don't spend, lol.Minimum of 30xSB.
Wandigo 1
At the B&M's I play at, 1/2 NL is pretty soft and the standard buy-in is $100. (Greektown has a $50min but I refuse to buy in for the minimum) If max is $200, I'd say go ahead and do that so you have a bit of chips to work with and won't get bullied around right away. Tiltinagain 973
I can only talk about indian casino's in washington since that's where I've played. Typically they spread 1/2, 3/6, 4/8 and 10/20 limit games. No limit is (unfortunately) not legal in WA. You'd think the indian casino's wouldn't have to abide by state law on this but I digress. $100 buy in for the 1/2 and 3/6 and it goes up from there. NL in CA they'll usually have a $40, $100, $500 game. Bottom line, take at least 3-4 buy ins for whatever game you're going to play and have fun!

rivergirl 2
i think your best bet in any bm room is a no limit game that is affordable for you. I find playing a limit game, especially a low limit game, turns out to be nothing more than best hand poker and no matter what you do you can't bluff out the donks with low pair that always tend to draw out. Let's face it $3 doesn't scare anyone off. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game to play i just think that if you feel you have solid enough skills, playing the NL is the better game for youAnd remember....if you can't spot the fish at the table in the first 5 minutes, it's probably you. pokerplayer101 0
Well, there are no NL cash games in Minnesota. The lowest limit game you can play is 2-4. You want to bring at least $50 to the table. Good luck but if you don't catch some cards you're going to lose your money. Almost everybody's going to call you down at that level. Have fun.

The minimum amount of money you should have at the table in a LHE game anytime is as much as you need to cap every street, for the rare occasion you have a monster hand and someone's willing to pay you off, getting all in in a limit game can be a big mistake. AC BillP 0
What-ever limit you play online, play that at the Casino. If you've never played, try a jacks or better Video Poker machine that pays 9 for a FH, 6 for a flush. If you win $50, quit and brag while watching you friends lose.
