BearCanada 0
73 hours is nothing. I have surpassed that every time I have been to vegas. In the original world series of poker, Johnny Moss and Nick the Greek played for like several months straight. I'm not sure how often they took breaks, but I would imagine they did way more than 3 days at a stretch. This one time when I was playing poker for 7 years straight in a Tibetan monestary, I was fishing at the same time and I caught this 20 foot Coi and then suddenly I was in a ditch and I was really really drunk. So I got up, brushed myself off, tapped myself on the shoulder three times saying "....Best ...Dream .....Ever!" Then I made the long walk to join everyone else in this stupid place called reality but man, what a Coi!BearOh by the way I won the tourny busting Aces with 7 2 offsuit.Oh and I was drinking baby duck and absyenthe shooters off a naked virgin. If you want more details PM me. makaveliwj 0
Perhaps this is the "world record for anyone who cared enough about holding the record to have it recorded." All others are unofficial.
tightmike 0
Perhaps this is the "world record for anyone who cared enough about holding the record to have it recorded." All others are unofficial. That is exactly it. There are certain rules you must follow to set the offical GWR record. The record is 72 by a guy who played 1-5 seven card stud up in Foxwoods. For those worried if I'll go bust, it's not like I'm going to be playing 5/10 NL and higher. That would be silly for this record. Not that I haven't done silly stuff in the past. And the number one question....why? Eh, for the hell of it. I don't have anything else to do as I look to get back into coaching. For those who have responsded, "who cares?", obviously you don't. So don't read the blog. Yes it is that simple.mcwww.worldrecordpoker.comPS..there will be an announcement attached to the record attempt and I will be trying to do live updates and commentary while I attempt the record. GWCGWC 83
Mike,I'm very disappointed in your decision to close/delete your "crazy life" blog. I was rooting for you to suceed in taking a shot. I read your blog and left a few positive comments. Here's what I'm disappointed about. You quit your blog dude. I got to know you through your words and then you just quit. You could have kept writing about what your plan was or what was happening with you, but you gave up. shame on you. This is a very selfish thing for me to say and I wouldn't have said anything except now you have started a new blog with the intension of doing nothing more than be recognized by the GBWW. Sounds like an attension whore kind of thing to me.I truly wish you the best in whatever you choose to do in the future.GPOTD and i don't give a shit
ElToasto 0
I once pulled a 72 hour stint at the Grand in Biloxi with the help of alot of aderol back in college. By the end of the 3rd day the room was changing shape and the cards had meaning that extended well beyond the poker realm. Good luck to you and be sure you have a room waiting for you at the end, passing out in a car in the middle of summer is no fun.
brabz 0
I liked Mike's old blog, and I hope he succeeds. If nothing else, should be interesting to see how it goes. Also, "ElToasto", your sig. has the wrong spelling, it's Hedberg. Not nit-picking or trying to be an ass, just noticed off-hand and figured I'd tell you.

tightmike 0
GWGCGW,I am sorry you feel that way. I am thankful that my blog was able to make some affect on someone. That means a lot to me.While the original blog is down, but still on my database, I have decided to do two things.1) Start the blog for the world record, as it is poker related and a lot of people have experience with playing long hours and therefore, might be interested in it.2) This was going to be the announcement for later on, but I'll go ahead and spill the beans. I am writing an autobiography to be published sometime around the world record attempt later this summer. The world record attempt is an attempt to drum up more publicity for the sell of the book. The book is half written so far and will detail the way I came up in track and poker, why I decided to switch careers, what happened during my poker career, and where I am and what is next for me.I apologize to anyone who thinks I'm an attention 'whore'. I am just doing some things that I'm interested in and sharing them with people who might be interested along with me.www.pokerworldrecord.blogspot.com

Good luck with the book and if I ever get my BR to my target number, I'm gonna puss out and set a new target number. At some point, if I ever reach those target numbers, I will be taking a shot in Vegas also. Good luck with the record and the book.
