daniel - down 1.3 million dollars - some questions

Recommended Posts

We pay a time charge in the big game- $10 per half hour per player.  As for "rich fish" it's pretty rare actually.  It's mostly piranhas eating piranhas.  Only the strong survive, while the others are forced to go back down to the smaller game and grind it out.
bahhh, 20/hr not 30. i was close :D whats ridiculous is thats not much more than the sessions for the 10-20 games in ontario. what do 10-20 players pay in sessions at the B? at the new wynn?
Bellagio doesn't spread 10-20. They do spread 8-16 which is raked, I believe at 10% to a $4 max. 15-30 which is the same rake. The time charge begins at 30-60 where each player pays $5 per half hour, it goes up about a dollar per limit from there.

Not sure what that means Blaze. But I can see I'm outnumbered.  But I'm just going to pretend we are all friends. You know my name on Stars come find me for a friendly game.
it was a joke. the last 6 posts have been jokes. dont read too much into them. for example: hey kdawg, SCREW YOU HIPPY. <---- not serious. you need a pretty tough skin for online forums, people tend to say things online they would never dream of saying to someones face.
hea, just cause I'm really into Phish and had long hair..ohh wait damn. I prefer Beatnik, comes across better :D

back to the original thought of this thread. after being down a million, what do u think dn's bankroll is? he won like $4 mill last year in tourneys right? how much could he have? he spends a lot of money on impusle, leather jackets in the parking lot, paying peoples rent for rides. ..i'm just curious. i'm putting the over and under at $3 million in cash. i'll take the under. what do u think?

I'll agree with you.Mainly because I would think a lot of these poker players are a lot like, say, Bill Gates--worth a (&Y&load, but most of it is liquid in nature.

At the higher limits on the East Coast they generally just take the $9-$10 or whatever out of the first pot over a certain size. Down in $15-$30, to save time wasted collecting, someone will commonly run 2 "time pots" taking 1/2 of the total fee out of the first 2 pots over 11 big bets in size. In other words, the winners pay the losers time fee---similar to a rake but MUCH faster. They tried to have a rake of $4 at the $10-$20 Hm but everyone went to anther casino because it costs to much at that limit, assuming more than 18 hands get dealt/1-2 hour.

I would like to play 100 heads up sitngo NLhodem?
The two of you each start with $100. Play the $5+0.25 heads up game. Keep playing until one player has less than $5.25. The most likely scenario is PokerStars will have most of the money.

All I can say is you have the right to worship and get obessed with Daniel Negreanu, that's your bussiness, not mine.
I dont think anyone is obessed with DN or gus hanson or phil, i think its the fact that you have no clue wat your talking about. before you go out making statement like that i think u need to know wat your talking about. To say that DN and the rest r live ones is just obsurd. Ok i have another question DN saied that the trip cost him 400 or so thousand, i thought that he one everything he lost the nights before. so wouldent him only loosing 100k in the 31 hour session just be about breaking even. I dont no im confused. if someone could clue me in that would be great. 8)
He Said it was "Worth" $400,000, not that it cost $400,000... Big Difference.

"Keep playing trying to win back money you've lost. I always thought this was the worst thing you can do (guess it worked out this time)"I found this an intersting comment by Daniel as well. He wrote an article for CardPlayer where he said "Play hours, not results". Meaning, before every session plan on playing for a set time and don't try to win back your losses. This advice has helped me tremondously at viewing poker as one long session and not letting the inevitable down swings drive you crazy. I guess he just broke his own rule, but I'm sure it happens to everyone from time to time. What I want to know is how stuck Phil Ivey and Gus Hanses were after that game broke up. Because if Daniel made that big comeback at the end, it was coming out of their stacks. So that just shows you how great poker players are when they can drop a ridiculous amount of money to someone and then pick them up at the airport the next day.

I have a question:I always wondered if someone different in the Big Game wins every other night and it's the SAME people playing.. why even play? You're just shifting money around in a circle.. And if Brunson, Reese, Giang, Chan, Berman, Cloutier etc. are losing to Daniel, Ivey and Gus every night, don't you think they'd play someone else?? I know Daniel won't say who's lost what to who.. but it is a bit puzzling.
