chuckf410 0
From the Las Vegas Sun in an article about the new Wynn hotel:The poker room will have a solid VIP section for big-money games.Canadian poker star Daniel Negreanu has been signed as the room's ambassador; he'll spend at least 200 days a year in the room, Schorr said.http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/.../518301909.html

Phil Henke 0
I imagine the game will go wherever the money is. It sounds like it is going to be an amazing facility and I am sure they will attract other high level poker players other then Daniel. The waiting list system that they have seems really advanced, much better then what is currently installed in most places where you can't even leave the area or you will miss your call. I hope somebody does a review of it when it opens. Where exactly is it located on the strip?
mcpickie 0
it's at the north end by treasure island and venetian. i have seen it's progressive construction over the past couple years and it looks sick.i'm sure it will be atreat for anyone.vegas, baby, vegas. AC BillP 0
Where is it? I think Wynn bought the old Desert Inn (where Howard Hughs lived) for $275M when he sold out to MGM Mirage Corp. My memory is it's on the downtown direction on the strip from the Mirage / Bellagio (other side of road) and really has great real estate potential with an 18 hole golf coarse still unbuilt upon. That parking near the poker is a hudge thing--only the Bellagio also has it.
AgroPoker 0
Typically poker goes where Wynn goes. He opened the Mirage and that was the place to play. Then he opened the Bellagio and that became the new highs takes place to play. With the attention he is putting on poker, with the addition of DN, I see no reason why this wont become the new Hot spot. Only time will till.

minorityreport 0
Yeah, he's a bit of a sell-out lately, but more power to him--he's business class now.
deviper 0
when you say that hes going to the be poker ambasador this means that he will be playing in the big game there 200 days out of the year.

(Although, on the east side of the Strip I think Sping Mountain Rd is named something else).Anway, it's across the street from the Fashion Show Mall. Casino-wise, it's north of the Venetian & Treasure Island, but south of the Frontier.I come east down Spring Mountain to get to work and have a really clear shot of it, it is a monster. It literally dwarfs the Treasure Island hotel.
Vade 0
Yeah, he's a bit of a sell-out lately, but more power to him--he's business class now.Being an effective businessman, does NOT make him a sell out. In fact, there are some parallels to be made between what Daniel's doing now and what Phil Hellmuth's been doing for years. Well, besides the fact that Daniel's the best tournament player in the world and is a good sport about the game. The parallel is that Poker is like any other industry with Sponsors, and big money to be made through poker related products and what not. It's good for poker, becoming more legitamate. deviper 0
so im guessing that the vip highlimit room will be the same 2000-4000 game or 4000-8000 game, the only problam is getting the players to migrate over there from the billagio. Because it would be bad if danny had to go down into lower limits because there is no big game running.
Vade 0
I'd guess as the poker ambassador, he's going to be spending a lot of time playing lower limit tables, in "beat the pro" kinds of promotions.
