Lovely in the pissing down rain.Poker tonite at my place. Ya'll are invited.I like that baseball can get rained out. It doesn't always get cancelled when it's raining, but it gets canceled before a soccer game would in rainy weather. The only thing that cancels a soccer match is lightning. The mosquito filled fields and soggy made soccer pretty awful.I'm sorry Matt's team didn't fair as well as they would have liked.
Nikki_N 17
Today in SLO we went to lunch at a place I really like called Apple Farm. Then we took the kids swimming at the Elks. After we brought them home, Dave and I hit the Chumash casino. He has an interesting story with some weird cheating by some players that cut his session short. We had dinner in Solvang and then went to see Inception in Santa Maria.I really enjoyed it. Joseph Gordon Levitt was hot and awesome in it and Marion Cotillard was hot and haunting and pretty creepy. The special effects were totally entertaining and the plot is just twisty enough to keep you thinking. I give it a thumbs up. I look forward to it coming out on DVD so I can watch it again, more carefully. Now it's super late so I'm going to hit the hay.

David_Nicoson 1
Tell the cheating story Dave.Mexican is hanging around the 2/5 game for no apparent reason. Mixed race guy in the 8 seat (sporting matching white Air Jordon shirt and hat, flashy gold watch, sunglasses, and tied piece of string for a bracelet) slips chips off his stack to him. He takes the chips across the room, briefly visiting the adjacent tables. (Imagine the singing reluctant groom from The Holy Grail tentatively walking toward the window to shoot his message out the window to John Clease.) He walks up behind the 2 seat (older native of Guam wearing a Tony Hawk hoodie) and deposits the chips on top of his stack. It could have been as innocent as a red/black prop bet, but I didn't like the vibe. Based on the conversation, the dealer clearly knows the 2 seat from outside this room. I cashed out, explained the situation to the floor, and left.
jeff_536 3
Got knocked out of the first round of my home game last night when villain rivered a one-outer. The other four would have given me a straight flush. Got doubled through in the last game when different villain hit two-outer on the turn. Got my money in good nearly every time and they hardly ever held up.Poker really sucks sometimes.

Nikki_N 17
Okay, so who's in for Chicago on the 23-24 of October. I'm in. I guess the plan is to do something as a group on Saturday night that involves dinner and most likely a trip to the Horseshoe in Hammond (it is Hammond, right?). Sunday evening Ren is going to see Cross Canadian Ragweed. I might be in on that. It's a chance to see Henry, Spicey, me, Ren, Oz, Josh, and very likely Scott, Doug and Dave. I was hoping for Jeff, but he has school. Who else feels like making the trip to Chitown?

Nikki_N 17
I am finally a Senior. It only took me 16 years. It should only take a few years for me to finish my Senior year. Then on to my Masters. I'm going to be 80 when I graduate at this rate. That's a guess, I didn't actually do the math.

Henry, Yvonne and I are looking at the Bears/Redskins game that Sunday while Ren goes to her concert, but so far we haven't found any reasonable tickets. I know Ren also has some of her music friends going she will be hanging out with and so we don't have plans to hang out all weekend or anything, just Saturday night.
