Obviously needs more then just that, but I'm not gonna lie, that is a great idea.

What would most folks think of live voice chat?A dying company I have a piece of has small bandwidth voicechat software tha would work well with online poker. Obviously there's no private/banned chat. What would you folks think about that?
Voice chat would be relatively easy, and it really shouldn't slow anything down. Ever heard of ventrillo, a great example showing that it shouldn't be too hard. However while on the surface I do like the idea a lot, i feel that more annoyance would come from this then anything else. I guess there would be a mute feature incorporated as well though.
I know ventrillo, I'm talking smaller. In fact I could run video and audio for less bandwidth. Why I'm asking is, that I don't know if I'd want voice while playing online. I was asked to put out feelers.

when i originally made my comment about making a poker site it probably sounded like just a random comment. when i was finishing college we had a group of people that were gonna try it. we had a nice business plan written up. it helped that the one person had his own company and a few wealthy backers. so if it sounded like i thought it was something that would take 2 weeks that wasnt the case. it was actually a thought out plan.

I'd make "value limit heads up matches", whereby at the end of the hand, the proportion of the pot is paid based on who gained and lost value on each street. Obviously the river bets would go 100% to the one holding the winning hand. Bets made on the turn would go proportionate to the probability of each player winning the hand at that point. Flop and preflop bets would be paid likewise. If on any street an opponent folds, 100% of the bets on that street go to the bettor.A hand could go as follows...Preflop: As Kd vs. Jh JcWith a preflop raise and reraise - 43% of the 3BB's would go to AK, and 57% of it would go to jacks.Flop: Ac, 10h, 9h AK bets, jacks call - 83% of the 1BB would go to A/K and 17% would go to jacks.Turn: QhAces bet, jacks raise, aces call - AK gets 68% of the 4BB's and Jacks get 32%.River: 2hAK check, jacks bet, AK calls - Jacks get 100% of the 2BB's with a flush. Total pot = 10BB'sThe overall breakdown would then be...Pocket Jacks get: 1.71 + .17 + 1.28 + 2 = 5.16BB'sAce King offsuit gets: 1.29 + .83 +2.72 + 0 = 4.84BB'sWhich combined, obviously, adds up to the total pot. Ace king lost value preflop and at the river, and gained value on the flop and the turn. You would never lose or win on entire pots on account of dumb luck; just the value from the subsequent streets. You would pull out of every hand with at least SOME value, simply because no hand is drawing dead preflop. This raises the obvious question - what happens when someone folds before the showdown? Well, you could either have it such that a fold forfeits all claims to value, or you could have it where a fold just forfeits value from that particular street. One way encourages players to call down to the river even in shitty situations. The other discourages bluffing to a degree. What does this actually accomplish? It reduces the variance (standard deviation) of limit poker so that you can safely play at far higher limits with a significantly smaller bankroll. While most "experts" advise limit players to keep a bankroll at or above 300BB's in order to avoid going broke due to chance fluctuations, a "Value Table" would require significantly less - probably below 50BB's. Imagine being able to safely play at the 5/10 tables with a mere $500 in your bankroll. It'd be great - but it obviously comes with it's disadvantages. At those types of tables, bad players would be able to recognize all of their mistakes - and the truly bad players probably would avoid the tables after trying it out a few times with poor results.I'd see it as a novelty and I'd probably still play at the standard tables. Chance occasionally favoring inferior players is what keeps them playing, after all. It's be fun to try out though and im sure it would draw in plenty of people who bitch and whine all the time about how bad their luck is.

1. miniview2. shortcut keyswriting the code is not that bad. i've worked on online gaming sites here in the us. you could have a demo site up in 30 days and a fully tested site up in 3-6 months. advertising would be the biggest chunk on money. how many sites out there are barely making it with 500 users?on a side note, i just noticed vegas approved gambling on electronic devices while not on the casino floor. right away i thought stacked on a psp.

Blind structure, something I would love about a DN managed poker room is that raising the blinds wouldn't mean doubling them and never having an ante.

For the record, I'm prepared to help in any capacity possible. If you just want me to sit around writing press releases and talking to the various online poker media outlets, fine. Done.I used to program, so I have the mind for it, but it's been a long while.

Rock - Scissors - Paper rooms.
Can you imagine all the fish who think it's no different than flipping coins. Oh....that would be beautiful.
Indeed, the Pre-Shoot strategy in this game is mind-boggling. When I won the RPS Champion in 2002 I had a great read on "Wristy" Franklin Rhodes, He always shoots scissors from the 'hand shake' position, this gave me an edge to run rock at about 66%.Vegas Vacation did for RPS what Rounders did for Texas Hold'em. It's time RPS gets the internet surge poker has, dontcha think?

RPS will only go the way of holdem if they introduce behind the back cams..."Oh, Vince, now we know that hes dominated by the rock because we have the amber bock back cam..."

Support for Pocket PC and Palm devices would be excellent. You could even extend that to Smartphones with no problem I'm sure.

Webcam strip poker sounds kind of fun to me.
There is strip poker now, for free. They're basically play money cheap porn sites. It's heads up 5 draw with betting increments of t5, t15, and t25. Once she loses t100, she goes to a new picture, progressively more revealing until it's full nude at 6. Once you lose it starts over. It's maddeningly fun, addictive, and frustrating all at the same time.www.bunnypoker.comwww.starpoker.comStarpoker has strip poker vs. guy models too
Geez....Thanks for the link TJ. I now have a new addiction. It's as aggravating as playing at a table full of fish!! I suggest all our male FCPers go to this website and try it. I was almost late for work tonight. :club:
