Last night I caught the episode of Gus Hanson losing to Danny the EX-Card dealer. Ok, there is no way that guy could get lucky like that. I mean, one of the times he had a 1/2% to win, and won. Then he had 2 jacks vs. 2 queens, and pulls quads. Come on. Somethings gotta be going on. I dont know if the WPT ratings are dropping or what, but that guy was so calm about it. He didnt act excited like he knew that was supposed to happen. Let me know what yall think.__Jack

Why should he get excited? He's a dealer. Doctors become immune to the blood and gore of their jobs, and so do dealers. That 1/2% suckout that you find so incredible is something he's seen hundreds of times.

If you examine it very carefully, you will notice that Gus is barefoot and out of step with the rest of the players at the final table. Also, if you play the video tape backwards, you'll hear a voice saying over and over 'His hand is dead mon'. These clues, and several others will lead you to the truth. What I liked were the pre-commercial segments about "Amature's biggest mistakes"... by the pros of course.1. They call too much. Translation: "Quit chasing hands. When I have top pair or bluffing, you should fold to me!"2. They play too tight. Translation: "Quit folding to me so easily when I have a good hand." (note... this is a contradiction to rule #1)3. They don't watch their opponents chip stack. Translation: "If I have a bigger stack than you, and I raise, you should fold even if you have the nuts. Quite beating up on us pros!"I forget the others... I'm sure there's a hidden meaning in them as well... I got a kick out of these!

I think they should audit the WPT's random number generator. Too many players from Costa Rica are winning and like half the sites are based in Costa Rica. Coincidence? I think not!!!I also think this may be the reason Shan Hiatt will no longer be on the show after 2 more episodes. Umm....there are no 'commercial breaks'...It's not live you know. I've played w/ Danny before at Bay 101; he's always came across (to me at least, who knows) as a pretty mild mannered guy, so him not getting excited isn't that big of a surprise to me. Maybe he takes the Barry Sanders 'Act like you've been there before approach', and not the 'I have no class, let me celebrate like an ass on tv' approach.Just because something is improbable, doesn't mean the WPT is 'rigged'. Danny hitting runner-runner sevens is amazing, incredible, improbable, lucky, and so forth, but not impossible. well, the original poster is certainly an idiot for actually believing what he was typing, but beyond all that, last night featured some of the worst play i've ever seen at a WPT final table! and, even worse than the plays was the fact that most of them paid off!!!! between that doctor calling all-in with ace high against Gus and about five awful mistakes by Danny Boy (that all won him pots!!!), i almost stopped watching when it got to be heads up. but, sure enough, i left it on and the first heads up hand they show is a $4 million pot between two marginal hands.it reminded me of the home game i play in every monday...the one i've been calling the Suckout Capital Of The World. awful.meanwhile, shana takes me to a happy place. and, yes, there's a volcano at said place. but, no, there's no bikini to be found.ok, i'm all better now.

If you were familiar with Russ G, you would know why I don't take posts like this as a joke. This isn't far off from some of things Russ has accused people of throughout his tenure on RGP. Russ has often said his life is in danger etc.I really don't appreciate you making a blanket statement like 'shows you have no sense of humor'. You don't know me, so please don't presume to know anything about me. In this case, I have no sense of humor. Every interaction I've had with Matt via RGP and at Bay 101 in person, has left me with the impression of an upstanding guy. I like Matt, he's always been friendly, and more then helpful. If the OP was joking fine, but based on my personal knowledge of Matt (and on a much smaller scale, Danny) this really pissed me off. You can take that as having no sense of humor, I view it as sticking up for people who have been kind to me in the past.If it was a joke, then sorry to the OP. First, I apologize for saying you had no sense of humor, you are right, I don't know you. Although your reply to me did state that on this subject you had no sense of humor.
