Kudos for getting rid of Brown's contract. Having cap space is no excuse. Cap space is an asset in itself. Goodluck with getting anything other than possibly a late round pick for Brown

August 7th and team is pretty much set.   Sounds like the old US Army tv ad's "We do more before 9 am then most people do all day"   AHL ad would read "Canadian Gothic, Dale doing more trades/de

You finally bamboozled someone into taking Brown

Ok Dale

I am hoping that draft history/success will be on my side.

Between you, Bob and Arp, you guys have 15 of the final 28 picks this year(as of sept 18th)

I would bet on the 7 picks selected by Big M and Whalers (53,60,63,64,65,69,79)

vs

8 picks selected by Canadian Gothic(54,55,56,67,70,74,76,77)

Scoring will be from the 2018-19 season and it would be ppg NHL average.

You have a good team..

I think comparing our teams, I am confident that my forwards are close to even if not better than yours..

Of course we dont even come close with respect to defensive core, where you totally crush me..Goaltending is a wild card..

Good luck and looking forward to a competitive division.

Remember you may have won the title, however I am the defending division champ.. :)

Thanks!

Who are your forwards?

I think you and Steelheads will battle for 3rd in the division this season.

Patrick Kane

Alex Steen

Wayne Simmonds

Nazem Kadri

James Neal

El Nino N

Ryan Oreilly

Alex Killorn

Alex Chiasson

Boone Jenner

Darren Helm

Viktor Stalberg

Anthony Duclair

Based on last season stats (AHL conversion)...

45.5 Kane - Stamkos 57.5

44 Steen - Pavelski 53.5

39 Simmonds - Johansen 48.5

36 O'Reilly - Wheeler 43.5

30.5 Niederreiter - RNH 40

30 Neal - Johansson 33.5

28.5 Kadri - Lee 33

26.5 Killorn - Smith 26.5

24 Helm - Silfverberg 26

18.5 Chiasson - Vermette 25.5

13 Jenner - PAP 15

6 Stallberg - Connolly 14.5

4 Duclair - Kassian 13

Obviously not a perfect comparison as some players will improve and some will score less...plus I didn't include Nichushkin...but I don't think your forwards are near equal to mine and definitely not better.

You should at least compare on a per game basis, controlling for small sample sizes. Total points is biased against injuries that have no bearing on the upcoming season where we can safely assume that almost all injuries are distributed based on luck. IMO.

A guy like James Neal seems to miss games due to injury every year so I'm not so convinced the majority of injuries are based on luck.

Case in point number 19 on the Toronto Maple Leafs

Arp, Carolina's defense is gonna be one of the best in the league very soon.
