David_Sklansky 1,904
I also cant wait to see poor Thera's reaction. He wrote a semi-leading sentence, tanner asked that he not do that, he humbly apologized and that was it, until suited caped up for all the book readers. Classic suited Hey, if pretending to hold an inflammatory position on the internet to amuse oneself is a crime, lock me up right beside my main man SA.
Essay21 2,387
I caped up for Thera. That's my teammate, that's my quarterback. Shades and tears. I still think I'm right. And I'll never admit otherwise. Plus, tanner sucks and has since 2008. You can't deny that.

Essay21 2,387
You made something out of nothing just to act superior. I called you on it and you hid behind a blanket general rule that doesn't even apply to what Thera said. You've been out argued by a professional. It's okay. You lose, good day sir. BigDMcGee 3,355
Look, I'm all about piling on Tanner, for the love of the game. Everyone knows he's the worst regular poster ( outside the hockey forum, I mean. Who the hell knows what goes in in there, but they are mostly Canadian, so how could could they be? ) However, I also know that Dutch hasn't read the books, and heaven help the schmuck that spoils any of the show for him, He's getting laid now, and isn't as dangerous as he used to be, when his sexual energy got funneled almost completely into spite. But he's a sleeping giant, one I don't want to kick awake, so proceed spoiling at your own peril.
SuitedAces21 2,723
i would never actually spoiler anything. my whole point is if you're upset about what thera posted then you need to leave the internet behind because that wasn't anything.
BigDMcGee 3,355
I disagree. Small comments like that, can have much bigger impact than you might think. I hadn't seen the 6th Sense, and my friend told me " oh, you'll love it, it's kind of like fight club" and I said "Why the **** would you tell me that?" and he assured me that he hadn't told me anything, and I'd enjoy the movie. And so, since I had seen the commercials where the kids says " I see dead people" about 100 times, and because I knew there was some sort of big Tyler-Durden style plot twist, I knew that Willis was a ghost about 5 minutes in, and the movie was completely ruined for me. If you give people little clues, they can figure out a great deal from them.
Theraflu 1,035
It's all pretty silly. SA, while proving himself to be the worst, manages to get out-worsed by Tanner saying he has read the books, rendering my pandering apology even more irrelevant. I will try to avoid slightly-buzzed spoiler-type posts in this thread, however. My favorite reviewers are the ones that haven't red the books, and getting their perception of what's going on. I also agree whole-heartedly with BigD's spoilered post, making my original comment obsolete!

timwakefield 68
MILD BOOK DISCUSSION BUT ZERO SPOILERS: I finally finished the third book. I can't tell how much is because I've been reading the books (this is probably most of it) and how much is because the show is faltering, but this most recent episode was pretty disappointing. A lot of it felt cheesy, especially the final scene with Dany. Essentially the exact same scene happens in the book, and it's a lot more tense and believable. Because I read those scenes so recently I can't help but notice small differences. Like when Podrick Payne was leaving Tyrion for presumably the final time, in the book Pod is too shy and nervous to say anything, in the show he promises Tyrion that he knows he's innocent and Tyrion tells him he's the greatest squire the world has ever known. Eyeroll.
Theraflu 1,035
Some things make for better television. Pod coming into his own after the battle is better than him reverting back to a near-useless mole.

timwakefield 68
Some things make for better television. Pod coming into his own after the battle is better than him reverting back to a near-useless mole. That's true. I think I just didn't love this week's episode, and Arya is getting pretty cheesy too (not this week so much). Prince Oberyn is sufficiently awesome though.
BigDMcGee 3,355
I think ditching the Strong Belwas character ( who has been written out of the show, and was awesome) to focus on this crappy love story, is a bad idea.
