Well there was only two possible reasons in my mind for all your posts in this thread; you're a fanboy or retarded.
What's your excuse then - simply trolling as usual?

I believe people often wear sunglasses at the beach because it is often sunny when people go to the beach.
Dude, you can like...totally read the waves with some cool shades man.

How about hoods?
Yes, because they look ridiculous. Even moreso than sunglasses.
Clearly we understand it is possible to use sunglasses as an aid to cheating. I just think that the notion of banning them for "leveling the playing field" or masking tells or (worst of all) for the image of the game's players is completely ridiculous and disingenuous.
Would you be ok with someone joining a high stakes cash game wearing a mask from the Green Man costume? It would cover all of his facial features...is that still reasonable? Does that not violate the spirit of the game? envy.jpg

You're trying way too hard. But, just for fun:1. By the definition of "fanboy" that I understand, although I think at this point anyone who says that word is stuck in 2004, it wouldn't apply here since he's disagreeing with Negreanu. 2. Arguing that sunglasses should be allowed at a poker table isn't retarded. It's a legitimate point of view, whether or not you agree with it.So...yeah. If you want to be a dick, go ahead, but you really need to do a better job picking your spots.

Yeah but you are more likely look at attractive women (or men w/e) for longer periods of time when your wearing sunglasses. Not really the point I was trying to make though.

Isn't that pretty much what Phil Laak does with his Unibomber routine? What if someone gets a Botox injection or takes Beta Blockers just before playing? Is that going to be considered performance enhancing drugs? I just think that trying to over legislate the game is sort of silly. If some fool comes to the table with a Halloween mask then I'd think he was a moron, but not getting some sort of unfair advantage. Certainly enforcing some sort of dress code is fine. I can understand any number of reasons for a dress code - if you don't want to sit with some guy in cut-offs exposing his junk. And if you include sunglasses on the banned items list, fine too. But to do it under the guise of "fairness" or even image of the game is a little silly.I'd like to see the right woman in that costume.

If the pit boss, dealer and casino are complicit or blind to your being cheated in a game...you pretty much aren't going to make any rules that protect you.

Fanboy was originally not just targeted at him, posts like this..
It is hypocritical for Daniel to ask for sunglasses to be banned when he frequently wears a baseball cap. Anytime someone in a cap inclines their head all of their features are hidden. I can also hide my eyes simply by closing them, I suppose that is an advantage?
..were also included. I like fanboy, its a great insult. You're completely wrong that him disagreeing means he is not, how many threads are started in this forum by people calling him out obviously dying for a response.And...

...this was in response to my post. My original response was going to be :head banging against brick: If sun glasses should be banned because they can be used to cheat through marked cards but you want to argue all day that they shouldn't because it shouldn't matter about people hiding tells or looking like idiots then yea, you're retarded too.The one thing I will give POR upon reading back through is that he didn't know about the whole conversation from HSP that sparked all this off. I just assumed everyone would know this and I made a simple first post in the thread about the real point of the debate before all these arguments took place.

If marked cards were really the chief impetus behind the issue, why not deal directly with that issue, instead of going after sunglasses? That seems like a smoke screen.

I agree that doing it for the image of the game is silly. And it can't be considered an unfair advantage, because anyone would be allowed to do it.That said, I do think it would be perfectly reasonable for any card room or tourney to ban certain things, like hoods and sunglasses. At a certain point in every sport or game's evolution it becomes important (I think) to put in place some new rules to protect the spirit of the game.

I agree with you. Is that allowed in these Forums?

Video for people who don't get it.
Unlike contact lens , you can just stare at someones cards and not raise suspicion. Think about every time you wear sunglasses at the beach.
Yeah, like that happens in a Casino where the cards are switched every hand, everything is on camera, and everyone is watching everyone. That doesn't happen in real life. If you are really that crazy paranoid ask to borrow their glasses and look at the cards yourself.

Well Daniel has done the unthinkable - he has made me agree with Roy Winston!! Alot of people do wear rx glasses with a tint, would those also be banned in Daniel's fantasy world. While we are making the playing field level should we also ban online sites from paying entry fees of top notch players, providing them private lounges, and catering to their every whim? I think it is a much bigger advantage never having to go in to your own pocket to buy into these tournaments and allows sponsored players a "freeroll" while the average grinder on the professional tour would have to shell out close to a million dollars in entry fees, travel and lodging, etc to play all the major events in a year's time. Lee Trevino said it best - he never worried about a pressure putt on the PGA Tour after playing for years for all the money he had in his pocket (and sometimes for higher stakes than he could have paid had he lost)I hate to defend Hellmuth (believe me) but at least he occasionally posts that he realizes how lucky he is to be in the position he is in life and that he should use that as motivation to behave better and be more positive in life and at the poker table. Personally, it seems like Daniel whines and complains about way too much considering all the advantages he is given over the average person who has to invest 10 grand (or more) just to enter a major tournament. So sad that you have made me agree with Roy Winston and Phil Hellmuth - grow up Kid Poker - and shut up until you have something encouraging to say or are willing to show some appreciation for how easy you have it.Now, like I said in another post - someone find Daniel a nice Oriental woman so he won't be so stressed out all the time - I guess Evelyn Ng is taken but maybe Liz Lieu - no she is too hot 4 Daniel, but I am sure there is someone out there 4 him- LOL

yeah playing for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Why would anyone think of stealing. Also as if anyone would just give you their glasses if you asked. Few people would do that normally.
