What do single parents do, just never travel because of the hassle?

You just need written permission from other parent. Makes sense but it's a hassle

We got a lawyer to notarize a letter. Customs people can be pricks

Ya, I had a friend notarize it too. He scared me into it, told me some horror stories. (no, he didnt charge me, lol)

I never knew it was such an issue. After all that, no one said a thing.

One story was a bus full of Dads+sons going to a Bills game, and they were all told to bring the letter. One Dad forgot, he couldnt go over until they had the mom fax a letter over or something. Nuts!

When I was coaching a couple years ago, we went to a tournament in Great Falls, Montana. Driving with us were me, the head coach, the head coach's son, and one other kid from the team. This kid had an absentee mother, no father, and lived with his grandparent's, but they weren't his legal guardians. We had to get in contact with some Aunt of his to mail us a letter that said he could go to the tournament. Long story short, it took a lot of work, and we barely got the letter in time to leave for the tournament.

When we got to the border, the Border guard took mine and Josh's (The head coach) passports. He Asked us where we were going, glanced in the back seat at the 2 kids, and said "have a nice weekend, good luck in the tournament"

You were missed today

Thanks I missed it too. Kept wondering who I got. I think Steve did a great job as expected. Had to take a nap. Running on fumes here and don't want to be too tired for more poker tonight. Had the nuts and I folded in error last night.

3rd hand played during session. Had pocket 2s. Flop 9 7 2. Bet out $20 callers. I like wtf 2 straight draws (no flush draws possible). Turn 3. Bet out $50 and only one caller (a guy who did not know what he was doing). River 3 I go all in and he calls

I flip my deuces and he smiles throws over his 2 3

My life story continues.

Only had $100 left after my nfl bets. Went to poker 3rd hand 10 8 on big blind. Flop 10 8 3 with 2 spades. I check and guy to my left bets $6. The other guy pops it $40 so I go all in. Guy to my left days I have to call and other guy thinks about it and then calls.

Flush draw on my left and he hits on the turn

Woke up at 1:30 pm. Redeyes are a killer. I think my son is messed up from it. Will try and post a trip report later.

Redeyes are the absolute worst, I'll never do that to myself again.

Redeyes are the absolute worst, I'll never do that to myself again.

Finally feel better today and can function now. My old age has really kicked in. When we hit the rental for our vehicle, I walked into the parking lot and there were no cars. I stood inline and waited and said I will take the first car I can get (my rental was suppose to be a Corolla). I got a Dodge Durango. My stats for gambling is: poker -20 craps -660 blackjack 130 roulette 20 sports -100

Needless to say I should not play Craps anymore. Especially when young guys think they can roll. I think I found my mojo rolling. Was able to hit 5 points in a roll and build a stack before dinkus rollers lost. Overall I had a fun time. I know my son was feeling a little down because someone told him it was way better last year getting autos than this year. I told him forget that stuff, do what you know what you do best. Getting Sakic and Robitaille was pretty good. I remember standing at the MGM arena and my son asked me who that guy was. I knew right away it was Rob Blake and he asked me if I was sure it was him. Like come on kid, I watched a lot of hockey as a kid I know Blake when I see him. Told Blake we were from Toronto and he really did not seem to care. Oh well. Playing poker was probably the best time I had. Had some good conversations with a lot of people. Funny part when they thought I was 35 years old. One story that stuck in my head was a local when his hot wife (guy looked like Zach but shorter). He told me that a guy stole about $1k from a guy playing craps on Fremont. He ran and before you know it he had about 5-6 guys chasing him (all hotel security). They caught the guy and beat the living hell out of him. The thief would have wished the cops caught him instead. Another time playing poker on Saturday night at the MGM. A local told me that he only comes to the MGM to play poker on Friday and Saturday nights. I said why, he said you will see. The amount of extremely hot women that came out of the nightclub was unreal. One dealer kept screaming out "time out". Another dealer would stop the game. My time went pretty quick since my son and I hung around the arena most of the time. Saw the Robitalle poker tournament and wished I joined. I would have paid the $650 to play. Anyone with any sense of poker would have made final table and got your money back at least. In N Out burger got the best of me. My weak stomach can take 2 burgers in a roll anymore. I have to say the Sportsbook at the MGM on a Sunday was WOW. Seeing the guy in front of me bet $30k on the Bears was something. I really got a kick out of it. Now I felt like a goof betting $100 on the Lions after that wager but hey I bet what I wanted. I told my wife about the guy and she said did you get on the Bears? I said no way, the Lions are going to win. Standing around the Sportsbook on a NFL Sunday was a lot of fun. Hope to do it again and may consider a Super Bowl Sunday if anyone is up for it. That is pretty much the short version since I got a ton of work to do.
