Unethical Behavior By Rio Staff At Wsop

Greasing palms to get special treatment is a Vegas tradition. The fake waitlists are deffinatly shady though.
That's if you want SPECIAL treatment, but not to get normal treatment.

Other than the fake waitlist I dont see much of a diffrence between this and waiting 2 hours to get into a club while someone slipping a doorman a $100 can walk right in. By no means do I like it but its intrenched in the Vegas culture.

This isn't a club, it's a poker room. They make money when players play. I've never heard of anything like this before. It's not at all the same. Not to mention the fake waitlist is a pretty big deal!

I'll tell you what I think...but first you'll have to ship me a couple of bucks on Stars.jk, I think it's completely unethical.

I seen this happen in Vegas over 15 years ago at a poker room. Different Casino but under the same ownership.

Yeah, crap like this over 15 years ago is the reason I have not been back since (but finally returning in September). Same thing at this POS golf course, the Desert Rose or something like that. Pay green fees, told starter will take care of us, go to starter, tee is empty, he tells us there is a long wait while looking at pile of cash on the desk. We say, that's nice, and proceed to glare at him for 5 min until he caves and lets us out. I am actually glad to see Vegas suffering a bit, the attitude for so long has been, f'off, there are 2 million visitors a month, so if you won't tip me the next dude will. Bellhops running out to touch your carryon bag so they can wait for a tip. Taxi drivers taking you the long way on a 5 min trip to make more dough. I am sure it is still there but hopefully not as pronounced....

My favorite is the tip jar next to the cash register at the small convenience stores inside the resort. Ok I just paid $14 for a bottle of water and a package of 10 tylenol and you want a tip for taking my money?

Traveling around the world you see that this is sickness that holds back whole countries. On the other hand, I see workers in these casinos making peanuts...who doesn't understand their desire to make more money so they can piss it away at the tables like the rest of us?

Good point - that is why you will never see me or my family set foot in Mexico. The funny thing is, when I go to a restaurant and have even the most slightly competent waiter or waitress, but with a good attitude, I will give them a 20% tip min since I feel sorry for them, and thank my lucky stars I am not the one doing the serving. But if they have an attitude like the tip is their god given right, then they get squat.Attitude is everything.

Well the bum isn't offering something you want in exchange.
Except a feeling of empathetic connection with your fellow man down on his luck...Oh and a bottle of water
