Russia: Us Will Collapse In 2010, Become 6 Rump States

Recommended Posts

Pretty audacious lecture from a Russian Foreign Ministry ScholarI bolded a few parts that I found interestinghttp://abcnews.go.com/International/WireStory?id=7003275MOSCOW March 4, 2009 (AP)If you're inclined to believe Igor Panarin, and the Kremlin wouldn't mind if you did, then President Barack Obama will order martial law this year, the U.S. will split into six rump-states before 2011, and Russia and China will become the backbones of a new world order.Panarin might be easy to ignore but for the fact that he is a dean at the Foreign Ministry's school for future diplomats and a regular on Russia's state-guided TV channels. And his predictions fit into the anti-American story line of the Kremlin leadership."There is a high probability that the collapse of the United States will occur by 2010," Panarin told dozens of students, professors and diplomats Tuesday at the Diplomatic Academy — a lecture the ministry pointedly invited The Associated Press and other foreign media to attend. The prediction from Panarin, a former spokesman for Russia's Federal Space Agency and reportedly an ex-KGB analyst, meshes with the negative view of the U.S. that has been flowing from the Kremlin in recent years, in particular from Vladimir Putin.Putin, the former president who is now prime minister, has likened the United States to Nazi Germany's Third Reich and blames Washington for the global financial crisis that has pounded the Russian economy.Panarin didn't give many specifics on what underlies his analysis, mostly citing newspapers, magazines and other open sources. He also noted he had been predicting the demise of the world's wealthiest country for more than a decade now.But he said the recent economic turmoil in the U.S. and other "social and cultural phenomena" led him to nail down a specific timeframe for "The End" — when the United States will break up into six autonomous regions and Alaska will revert to Russian control.Panarin argued that Americans are in moral decline, saying their great psychological stress is evident from school shootings, the size of the prison population and the number of gay men.Turning to economic woes, he cited the slide in major stock indexes, the decline in U.S. gross domestic product and Washington's bailout of banking giant Citigroup as evidence that American dominance of global markets has collapsed."I was there recently and things are far from good," he said. "What's happened is the collapse of the American dream."Panarin insisted he didn't wish for a U.S. collapse, but he predicted Russia and China would emerge from the economic turmoil stronger and said the two nations should work together, even to create a new currency to replace the U.S. dollar.Asked for comment on how the Foreign Ministry views Panarin's theories, a spokesman said all questions had to be submitted in writing and no answers were likely before Wednesday. It wasn't clear how persuasive the 20-minute lecture was. One instructor asked Panarin whether his predictions more accurately describe Russia, which is undergoing its worst economic crisis in a decade as well as a demographic collapse that has led some scholars to predict the country's demise.Panarin dismissed that idea: "The collapse of Russia will not occur."But Alexei Malashenko, a scholar-in-residence at the Carnegie Moscow Center who did not attend the lecture, sided with the skeptical instructor, saying Russia is the country that is on the verge of disintegration."I can't imagine at all how the United States could ever fall apart," Malashenko told the AP.Copyright 2009 The Associated Press. Republicans and Democrats finally have something to agree on: this guy is a moron.Even if our economy NEVER bounces back (and sometimes I wonder if it will) the US would take years and years to collapse slowly. And it would not break into 6 rump states or whatever the hell that was about. Just nonsense.I will agree that selling Alaska to raise money is intriguing. Then, Sarah Palin could give us even more inside info on the Kremlin from her porch.

If I were designing a perfect world from scratch, one of the first laws I would institute is that wagering is mandatory for any declarative statement made in public. You could be forced to put your money where your mouth is any time you said something, expressed a belief or an opinion, etc.Any person who hears you make a declarative statement about something and believes you're wrong can call you out and you would then be forced- under color of law- to provide them to a link to a website that would handle the action. Posting the money, etc. This would completely crush fantasy-based people and their associated political ideologies. There would be a consequence for being "wrong" that would directly impact their lives and in short order, they would all be broke and living under bridges, or keeping their deluded fantasias to themselves.

In. Whats the minimum bet? How much action would you have to take on any particular statement?Alas, some of these things would be too hard to tell who lost and who won for decades. We can build on this!!!!!!!!!

I love seeing the word "rump" used in its socio-political meaning! But an article that combines "rump states" and gay men is just too much delight.Something commies and conservatives can agree on: homophobia.I like the "prove it or lose it" theory, too, since liberals on this forum are the ones so fond of linking and quoting sourced statements. I can't source this, because I read it years ago, but after the Soviet Union collapsed, Harper's magazine printed an article by a US diplomatic scholar on whether or not the USSR would ever "rise again." His response? "We might as well expect a resurgence of the Hittites in our lifetime."Oh yeah, and which country is currently fighting civil wars with not one, but at least two, breakaway provinces? That would be THEM.[P.S. Communists predicting the future -- that's a good one. Their country doesn't even exist anymore -- think they saw that coming?]

Well Russia WAS right when Putin scolded Obama for trying to turn America into a socialist state. And for the record...if we do break off into 6 small nation states, California/Arizona/Nevada will be the most awesomeAnd we will officially name our country, "The nation formally named the USA" before any of you hicks can think of it.

I can't wait to invade Oregon/Washington/Utah/Idaho for water rights, and then have a subclass of people we can make fun of behind their backs.Kind of like Canada is today.

And what fun watching NY, Mass and the whole liberal NE as they raise taxes to 101% in order to pay for their silly ideas that so far California, Florida and Texas have been paying forThe Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico state will elect George W Bush to run their country...That will destabalize the entire Northern Midwest alliance, making them overspend on defense, which they will have to buy from California based weapons manufacturers. And the tourism dollar will flood to "The nation formally known as the US" which will result in us lowering taxes. After we trade NY all of Hollywood and San Francisco for $75 and an "I love NY Liberal Mecca" shirt for every resident in our new country.

Now wait a minute - we claim eastern Washington, eastern Oregon, Idaho and Montana for the great country of Mooridwa. Though I expect that after their economy collapses western Washington and western Oregon will petition to be annexed which would be fine since we wouldn't have to change our name at all. :club: We'd be the Libertarian capital of the world and would invite Ron Paul to emigrate and become our President.

Haha...you will be like the 'insert name of sports team that eveyone though would do well but didn't' in 'insert year'.Once you realize that most of your tax base is on hunting licenses, you will spend all your money on a fence to keep the game in your borders that you will go broke and welathy "The nation formally known as the US" will be your only source of revenu as we come to shoot buffalo.

Lol I know you like to think that we don't have anything worth selling but we do sell a great deal of wheat, cattle, lumber, wood products, coal (we have some of the largest coal reserves in the U.S.) and if we get eastern washington then include applescherries and other fruits and hydroelectric power. Plus we raise most of our own hay to feed those cattle as well. And buffalo? We raise buffalo for meat which sells quite well. Tourism may be part of the overall economy but it's not as important as some would like to make it. Oh and we do build a large number of log homes that get shipped all over the world.

Well let's see we have bread (wheat) fruit (cherries & apples) energy (coal & hydro) meat (cattle & buffalo), fiber for clothing (sheep, angora goats, Alpacas) and housing (lumber, wood products, log homes). Plus I don't know about the people in Idaho, eastern Washington and eastern Oregon but Montanans are a pretty tough bunch. And we have 2 air force bases, 3 army bases (no navy but that's really irrelevent) and one of the largest per capita veterans population in the United States. If we end up annexing western WA then we'll have 2 navy bases, an airplane builder, Microsoft, another couple army bases and a Marine Corp base. I think we'll do just fine thank you.

Lol you'll find it a great deal like invading Afghanistan or Vietnam. We have a LOT of mountains to hide in and you can bet we'd be the best gorilla fighters in the world. We'll bankrupt you.
