I hate this team. I renounce my status as a Sharks fan. I am a Wings fan now. They have always been my second fav. team. :club:
Smart man. Get out before the Sharks choke on a piece of plankton in the playoffs.

Now that was a great game - barely held off Detroit at the end. Eleven different goal scorers..Osgood didn't impress me - seems like Detroit would run away with the West if they got a top goalie.
I saw this and had to comment. Boredom. The whole team was bored and knows that a Prez trophy, while nice, is not the key to winning a cup. Being rested and ready to go is the key. Nice interview with Ozzie this weekend where he admitted that he was bored this entire season and annoyed because he couldn't really get up for the games. He admitted it was a terrible but that they were just wanting to get to the playoffs where it matters and that they were all surprised they even won as many games as they did in March. No offense but I would take Ozzie over Nabby any day because one has proven himself time and time again when it counts, the other hasn't. So how annoying is it to be down 2-0 and gong away for 2 games against an 8 seed? I know how it feels as the Wings got this from the Ducks before. IT SUCKS DONKEY BALLS.

yea it does.1. I thought we had until the second round to feel this way2. if a team is cup worthy, they have to beat every team they face (obviously) with no excuses unless you have quite a few key injuries. that being said, the sharks have had the worst first round matchups possible in the past two years. st. louis or columbus and this series is a different story. same with those series if anaheim was in them3. re: nabby / osgood. If you traded them straight up then san jose gets worse and detroit gets better. nabby can do the things osgood can do in that system but osgood can't do all the things nabby can do. though if you're detroit, you might say that you've won before in that system with osgood so why change anything? that makes sense to me.

wow, such doom and gloom from the Sharks fans in here.
there was two posts since the series has started. one was a post from a red wing fan. the other didn't say anything about the future just the past (which is doomy and gloomy).
Am I the only one who still thinks they can come back in this series?
they definitely can. it's not like they've been getting dominated. in fact, they're controlling the play for the most part. not as well as they can obviously. I'm not sure if this gives hope or not. they've lost twice but they've been in them. I'm not sure it really matters how actually.anyway, dan boyle needs to do something. he hasn't done anything extraordinary. none of the top guys have been great (not even for three or four shifts). sometimes that's all you need to win a game. hasn't happened yet.

nice win.I have never seen a group of players look as tired at such an important time as the Ducks seemed at the end. Ryan/Perry/Getzlaf all looked like they had NOTHING left in the tank, and couldnt make a play to save their lives. I didnt see most of the game, but Im guessing they were just worked to death.edit: WOW, now i get it. Just checked, and they played about 22minutes each. thats a lot of time. no wonder.

They also played the last 1:50 or so. That's bad planning, imho. Throw Christensen, Ebbet, Marchant or something out there for 30 seconds, then get a chance and let the big guys play the last 60-75 seconds so they're at least fresh.

thing is we haven't seen the sharks play their best or really even close to it and I would argue that they've still outplayed the ducks this series.I don't think doing the "smart" thing is something the ducks generally have a philosophy of doing. they're always a penalty heavy team (as an aside on that topic, honestly they could always get called for a lot more).the sharks did a lot of smart dump and chase today too. as opposed to the dump and chase where no one gets close to the d man or whoever is back there so no one hits them. the whole point of a dump and chase is to wear the other team down and force mistakes and get unexpected possessions putting the other team on their heels. for whatever reason, we saw a lot of dumb dump and chase in previous games. Or, at least not a lot of smart dump and chase

No. I'm with you brother!

This. Hopefully the Hiller issue has been solved now. Minor inconvenience imo.Seriously though, great effort last night, and hopefully can be a jumping off point for our post season. Hard work to get 3 wins thoughGO SHARKS

Sorry but I wouldn't completely call last night a great effort. Not many times you see a team give up 3 really bad goals in the playoffs and win a game. I would consider myself lucky I got of that game with a win with the terrible giveaways and some suspect goalie play early on.

Listened to part of Drew Remenda's thoughts when he was with Gary Radnich this morning. Basically agreed with a caller that Nabby had been sub-par - Nabby will have to pick it up as his teammates picked him last night. Also, the Lindsay Soto interview last night where she was obviously trying to cover up her plunging neckline is getting a lot of play on radio and on the web (Radnich mentioned that was the most popular hockey topic on his show).

There needs to be photographic or video evidence of this somewhere.EDIT: Ah so there is. And in HD too! :club:

LOL This was so awesome. She first tried to cover it with her arm, then she tried to close her shirt. I was at a bar watching this and everyone who was watching caught it.

I guess Ron Wilson wasnt the problem.Lots of people are on Joe Thornton...Probably not well deserved..Another wasted season it looks like.

are you saying it's Marleau? he's been better than Joe. the sharks needed a big game from him last night and didn't get it.I think last night was the first game you could say they got outplayed.Hiller was very good. Nabokov was in net.I still know that they're very capable of turning this around.

You have probably watched more than I have of this series.....so i'll ask you.Was it just me, or was Thornton absolutely brutal last night. It seemed like every Anaheim goal was avoidable if Thornton had given a better effort (he was on the ice for the first 3), and I saw no jump in his game. I hate to slam him, so easy to do today, but I'm really beginning to question his work ethic and/or top end talent. Last night was the most I watched of this series, and they were brutally outplayed, and in the 3rd, they brought nothing in a do or die moment.

I have watched most of the series and that by far was the worst effort by the Sharks I have seen. I have no issue with them spending most of that glass breaking incident ragging on Thornton's uninspired play. He was clearly brutal last night. A little extra effort in the back checking department on his part might have stopped the first goal from happening. I am not a big Thornton fan but if I was a Sharks fan I would be pretty annoyed by his play last night and wonder if he really has the desire. The other games in the series have been very intense games and I thought both sides looked flat last night. Nabby has just not shown he can be the playoff goalie. I am really not excited about having the Wings play the Ducks next round. I hope SJ at least makes it interesting though I think it is safe to say their playoffs are done...once again.
