I need to ask the experienced Vegas folksor frequent pokerheads where the best place for value in regards to playing poker in Vegas. I'm looking for best value in hotel stay through a poker room. I know the "Wynn" has a poker rate where you have to play at least 6 hrs. What I want to know is if you can split the play time between 2 players and if you need a Players Card for this? Also does this work if you play in a tournament at the casino as well?What has been some of the forum's experience? Are there any that offer great discount on room rates, food comps etc???I would be playing $1-$2 and $2-$4Also does anyone know why Wynn has $1-$3?? I just find that to be odd especially when calculating post size.Yes it is odd, but it is a great game. The one time I played in it about 3 years ago I won $1400 in about 5 hours without running hot. Dont know if it still is though...It used to be good but my last 2 trips there the game has gotten a lot tougher. At a table of 9 there were 5 players who I would call good and the rest are some what competent with leaks. Playe 10 hours straight and there was only 1 player I would call a noob and she sat for only about an hour. I am pretty sure you can divide it on 2 cards as the Venetian allows you to do this. And last time I played a daily there the tournament time did count towards the comps, the only place in town that I know of where this is the case. Link to post Share on other sites

I just find that to be odd especially when calculating post size.Thanks in advance.i stayed at the wynn for a couple weeks during the series, me and my buddy had the comp rate, but its not to strictly inforced, as long as u put some hours in there per day you should be fine...and u can divid it up between 2 people you just give your players card to the floor person Link to post Share on other sites

I have absolutely nothing to add to this, I was going to be going to Vegas Mid April, but my girl got comped tickets to the next GSP fight in Montreal so I'm going there instead!! The dealers know it's a pain in the ass for players who haven't played those limits a lot, so they're used to just having people say 28 chips (or whatever) rather than an exact amount.Bottom line is don't let the $3 chips dissuade you from playing one of the softer games on the Strip. Not too aggressive and not too loose. Average raise preflop was $12-15. And of course as stated, large bets or raises were said in chips not dollars. Breaskfast Buffet was very good. I'm still alive just haven't played much online anymore, I've played more live at Seneca Casino.I'm booked for Vegas in April and looking for a good hotel with a good poker rate. Seems like the WYNN isthe best value for me right now. What are the Toronto Fcp'ers up to now???Thanks for all the responses. I'll respond back once I've booked a hotel to follow up. psujohn 0 Posted February 5, 2008 Share Posted February 5, 2008 Poker room rates - while better than standard rack rates - usually suck in comparison to other promos like slots rates, etc. Many properties will allow you to register using a slots promo code even if you never play slots there. Check out fatwallet for current codes.As for 1/3 games - they're typically 2/5 games in disguise. The size of a game depends more on the max buy-in than the size of the blinds (at least live this is the case). A standard max on a 1/2 game is 200 or 300. A max on a 1/3 is usually 500.
