  1. I raise more initially... usually I tend to do (4 + #number of limpers)x bb as a base (so 1.75 in this case), maybe increasing a bb if the table's loose. As played, this is fairly read dependent for me. Since villain is shortstacked, if I think my image is pretty shot as far as preflop raising standards and villain knows it... I'd put him all in. I hate calling here and then shoving the flop against a C-R, whether they're weak or not. If villain is likely only doing this with a top range of hands, I'll lay this down

  3. You shouldn't. Hands don't have to be all-in marginal call/fold decisions to be "good". You post hands to fix leaks, so anything that helps fix those leaks are worth posting.
  4. With CO and Button still to act? I'm mucking this. Your "draw" is dominated by three other cards, and you're only 2 to 1 to get there. You have third pair and not much else. Even if your Th is good, your not getting much action, hence no implied odds.
  5. I call hesitantly. We're pretty much priced in
  6. Whoops, when I made the initial reply I thought I made that raise from the CO. Yeah unless the limper is known to do this with decent aces, I'm pretty much raising everytime from the button.

  8. Fair enough. I guess it depends on the tightness of the players behind for whats the optimal percentage of hands to be doing this with. Don't have the numbers offhand lol
  9. Folding pre is standard in most cases, but against players like this I try to isolate them in pots postflop and take advantage of them.
  10. I don't remember seeing him make an overbet like this before, at least against me. He seemed to be your typical loose semi passive donk, and the overbet took me by surprise.

  12. Seen the first 3 vids so far. Found it pretty informative and interesting, especially since I'm primarily a 6-max player. As for playing the super loose players and an appropriate strategy, I'm guessing optimal strategy would make variance substantially high (i.e. countering with appropriate aggression with less than the nuts). The other option is as you mentioned in your vids is to wait on hands, which can get frustrating but is probably the most sound approach.
  13. I agree somewhat with this, but QQ - AA is definitely in his range which I'm sure you implied. I think I'm behind his range overall, and if I flat call, my flop play is pretty difficult unless I flop a Jack. I hate getting it all in here preflop because I feel that I'm either a coinflip or behind. Again realistically the only way I'm ahead here is if villain has TT, and even then he might not be obliged to get it all in with that.
  14. I'm not sure I understand. Raising to 0.75 on the button would have been a raise more than pot (raise of .75 into a pot .35).
  15. Agreed, but if villain is flatcalling the 3 bet, imo it decreases the chance that he has somehting like QQ - AA and therefore we're mor elikely good on the flop. If we're shoved back preflop, I lay the hand down and don't even see a flop.
  16. Not saying that I agree, but if that's your thoughts, why'd you stack off on the flop? Imo, unless you have a read, hsi range is still pretty wide.Reraising preflop makes this hand much more straightforward on your behalf.
  17. Exactly the reason I don't want to reraise here. And although button's stats are meaningless at this point, through 14 he has not raised preflop and is now reraising on the button. I think we can assume in most cases his range is fairly tight here. At this level I don't try to give players the benefit of the doubt and assume they are thinking players (i.e. I don't assume this is a light 3bet) unless I have a history with them.I think it's a call/fold scenario, curious on what other people do in this spot. I realize JJ is on the verge of a premium hand, but I think being OOP postflop is also a
  18. I don't think I can fold here. I'm either shoving here (maybe he folds his ace) or flat calling and hoping to peel off a heart since we're getting fairly good odds. Of course, we aren't getting much out of villain if he's solid even if we do complete our flush. This is pretty read dependent actually, but I'm either shoving (repping AK/AQ), or flat calling.
  19. I know we're given incredible odds to call here but I likely fold in this spot as well. Another club neglects our hand, and we're very vulernable even if we're ahead on the flop. Basically we're calling here and hoping for both players to check down, unlikely due to the action on the flop.

  22. I probably end up calling here but the way villain played this hand screams out boat to me. I hate limping UTG but as played, flop is okay, turn I bet ~$2. River, I don't mind the size of the bet, I might have made a bit of a larger value bet since he called us down to river, but the reraise is either boat or busted heart draw (or maybe trips with a better kicker). At 5:2, I call the C-R.
  23. I reraise preflop to about $3 - $3.50. As simo said, the C-R should have been a bit higher. The shove on the flop is giving you about 3:2 to call... it could easily be two-pair, but just as easily be AQ, AJ. If he hit two pair, flat calling preflop gave him implied odds if he hit 2P like he did and knows how to exploit it. I probably call here based on the fact that its $25 NL and its likely this is Ax as well.
  24. I probably pop to about 600 preflop... and 3/4 bet the flop.
