  1. Two pair. We're kicking QJ's freakin' ass. :-)Right, that's important. I think having aces up turns this from a bet/fold to a bet/call... I think.Jeff
  2. Yeah, I wonder about these too.I think folding probably is correct. In HU I raise this, but having position makes it a lot easier to play, so I think folding is better from the SB.Oddly, I think I call this from the BB if the SB raises. Anyone hate that?Jeff
  3. This is key because now I know I'm not the only one. Can you tell us what villain had, please? :)Jeff

  7. If you're going to peel here, I think you're better off leading. You may fold a sensitive TT/JJ or some such... I think I'd rather bet/fold than call here, but that may not be right.I routinely just fold in this spot. About half the time I discover at showdown I was being bullied by KQo, dammit, but I still think it's right.Fold > bet/fold > call ?Jeff
  8. I really dislike both PF and the flop. Am I missing something?I think PF you can make a (marginal) case for, but I dunno on the flop. With two hearts out I hate drawing to this gutshot. I say fold 'em.Jeff
  9. What do you think about 3-betting here PF to try to fold out the limpers? I think I tend towards that rather than cold-calling, but it's prolly close. If you're going to showdown with the hand, I think it's a whole lot better to lead the flop and let BB protect your hand with a raise.Jeff
  10. PF: I think this is a fold. Or you could raise it if the limper is bad and isolate him with position, but I tend towards folding it.Flop: I assume you're playing a wait and see game for the turn. Raising here doesn't accomplish much, and I agree with that strategy.Turn: I like the raise. BB cold calling scares the bejesus out of me.River: ISAP so I lean towards calling here, but I think you prolly are beat 8 times out of 9 or whatever... BB either had a 7 or flush draw and hit.Jeff
  11. You may be right. I assume you check behind on the river if he just calls? I still think it's best to fold the flop. The only remotely reasonable hands he can have (if he's not a maniac) that I beat on the flop are AQ/TT and I don't think it's worth 2 bets (at a minimum) to find out.Anyway, results are villain had AA. When he didn't 3-bet the flop I had a glimmer of hope, but he was obviously going for the turn c/r. So I saved 1/2BB over calling down with my line, but I'm putting 2BB in the donked off column for this session since I didn't fold the flop.Jeff
  12. I considered that. I'm just not sure our opponent as QQ /AQ /TT often enough to make a bet on the turn +EV. He has to not only have one of these hands, but he has to be willing to give it up for one bet. Unfortunately, we don't know this opponent so it's hard to say whether that will happen. We also lose the showdown which we can do for the same price as a turn bet. Maybe I'm a showdown whore, but I really wanted to see cards on this one so I'd have some idea of how to play the guy the rest of the session. I don't think that's terribly wrong, but I was almost sure that I was beat on the f
  13. Damn, wish I'd thought of that. This does look like a good spot for a free showdown raise. Villain almost certainly won't 3-bet on this board with just an overpair.Jeff
  14. Call the turn, fold the river unimproved, methinks.Jeff
  15. You would if that's really how I played it That's the line I was about to take when I remembered I had position. Then I played it as follows:PreflopHero has J J UTG limps, 2 folds, Villain raises, I 3-bet, folds back to Villain who caps, I callFlopK 6 8 Villain bets, I raise, Villain calls.TurnK 6 8 9 Villain checks, I checkRiverK 6 8 9 4 Villain bets, I callFinal pot: 9BBSo how about this one?Jeff
  16. What are you hoping develops? How many outs do you think we have here when we're behind? The way I see it, this is a textbook example of reverse implied odds and it's a good fold. If he were closing the action, I'd say peel and pray...Jeff
  17. Remove MP2's river action to get unbiased advice.I'm not capping this turn, but I don't play 10/20.Jeff
  18. I was in the middle of a really shitty session when you posted this, and I appreciated it. Perhaps someone else will too.Jeff
  19. His stats are reasonable TAG-ish, so yeah I think he raises with a draw. I have this problem too. I obviously can't give a range because he hasn't initiated the action... he's only called. Since you raised from the SB, so I can easily see him calling the flop with as bad a hand as Q high or something like an overcard and a gutshot. On the other end of the spectrum, you could be drawing dead already, but I think more often than not you're ahead by the turn. Can't help ya there. I think the hand is more interesting based on how you react to a turn raise rather than if you should bet.Jeff
  20. Wouldn't that make this a fold?Jeff
  21. I post in the hijack. Absolutely no reads.PreflopHero has J J UTG limps, 2 folds, Villain raises, I 3-bet, folds back to Villain who caps, I callFlopK 6 8 Villain bets, I fold.Well?Jeff
  22. Flop is way too draw heavy to give up this quickly. I think he's raising the flop with any piece of it.I bet the turn and probably the river, but I may check/call there depending.Jeff
  23. I dunno, I'm not sure it's that bad.Your relative position couldn't be worse. You have bottom pair on a coordinated board with no real draws... I think raising and folding are close. I can't see just calling here. Now, if he's real bad I'm raising here to isolate. Depends on how I've seen him play post-flop.Jeff
  24. Add me to that list. I think this is the easiest check ever. a) coordinated boardB) no flush draw for usc) gutshot draw with a chance for a free cardd) overcard 'outs' not lookin so goodJeff
