  1. Shhh! Ya caught me... it was .5/1 I was playing with a friend of mine. Jeff
  2. PokerStars 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is UTG+1 with K:diamond:, K:heart:. MP2 posts a blind of $0.50. MP3 posts a blind of $0.50. CO posts a blind of $0.50. 1 fold, SB calls, BB calls.Flop: (14 SB) 8:diamond:, J:diamond:, 6:heart: (7 players)SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, MP1 calls $0.50 (All-In), MP2 calls, MP3 calls, SB calls.Turn: (14 BB) A:club: (5 players, 1 all-in)SB checks, Hero vomits a little and... ?No reads. I guess you can tell by PF they're all donkeys tho.Jeff
  3. Yeah, it's pretty bad. Not only are the tables ultra tight (at least preflop) but there aren't many of them. On stars at least you have more tables to choose from to find that really special bad post-flop player. I gotta switch to party tho...Jeff
  4. I think PF is just fine actually. About the only situation where I wouldn't raise AA in lhe is when you're heads up, with position on an aggressive opponent. I'm assuming he's aggressive since you didn't give us a read, but there aren't many passive 15/30 players I'd imagine. That said, I think you have to bet that turn. It might look to him like you're just betting to steal the pot and he'll call you with more marginal hands.Jeff
  5. Common misconception. A firewall (that you barely understand) will not help you if you are already infected with a trojan. Why? Glad you asked...Most of todays firewall projects are written in such a way as to make them more user friendly than security conscious. Thus, they are stateful firewalls which require only a single outgoing packet to any server outside your home network to open a port (sometimes permanently) designated by the packet. So all your trojan has to do is 'phone home' on a schedule and viola... the villain knows not only your IP but an open port in your firewall. Now, th
  6. Screech typically plays 3/6 and 5/10. I assumed this hand was the same. I think you have it backwards. I think they start making a 3-bet bluff at a higher level. I'm sure there's sarcasm in there, but you may have used more than the recipe called for since I can't make out your meaning :)Jeff
  7. I think at this level, you're right, the T doesn't 3-bet. The real question is how often does the 2-T call your raise.Jeff
  8. Eww, definitely raise that turn. You might slow down the river if a passive player keeps raising, but it's at least worth a raise/call.Jeff
  9. Just curious...Which sites let you transfer real money to another player? I know stars does. Any others?Jeff
  10. In a multiway pot, I agree 100%. I'm always raising the turn with a small flush to protect it.In a HU pot with position I would play a small flush or set (with no spade or a small one) exactly this way against an aggressive opponent. The fact of the matter is that the liklihood of you having a hand you're going to pay me off large with is fairly small... so by waiting until the river I get to see if my hand is likely good or if a 4th spade falls and ruins my party. I'm probably getting the same number of bets from you either way but I lose less when the river steals my pot. Please note that
  11. Given your position, there's not a lot you can do to protect your hand. So it comes down to letting SB keep the lead so we can raise a good turn or to go ahead and raise the flop for value.Personally, I go ahead 3-bet the flop. There's no guarantee the callers are coming along for a bet on the turn, but it's probably close. Either way, there's a lot of dead money in there for the grabbin.Jeff
  12. I like it.How do you react to a 3-bet?Jeff
  13. With such a thorough and scientific argument, who could argue? :)I think it's much closer than "very easy". Here's why...We can't really put villain on a range. He has only called up until his river raise and we have no reads. Thus, we have only to compute what we beat, what beats us, and what we tie. Here's my take on that:We beat: 28 combos---------A7 = 2*3 = 6A2 = 2*3 = 6A4 = 2*3 = 6 (tho i doubt this calls the flop)AQ = 8 (and i doubt this calls the flop + turn) Beats us: 45 combos---------spades: 13-4 = 9 = c(9,2) = 36 set: 77/22/44 = 3 ea = 944 is as likely to call the flop as
  14. I said don't 3-bet it because the flush did get there on the turn. With position against an aggressive player I'm playing a flush the same as villain. Hell, with any strong hand I'm playing this way against an aggressive villain. With the flush out it looks like a lose two, win one proposition. If I put in the 2nd bet I'm raising for sure and calling a 3-bet. I just don't like having to call a cap if I'm the one putting in the 3-bet bet. That said, no more coordinated than this board is, it probably is a 3-bet.Jeff
  15. I probably would have checked the turn without a read... against a LAG I bet it.Spades got there so I check/call that river.Jeff
  16. I think I'm just calling here. If we raise, we'll have to call a cap despite really not wanting to. Jeff
  17. You're right, it's 1BB. So we're clear on this counting thing tho... 1BB > 0BB yes? You also didn't know SB wouldn't cap the flop with his (very likely) overpair. I didn't include that in my post, either.I notice you didn't address any of my points on the turn. Is that because you agree with them? :)Jeff
  18. Ok, I'll go against the grain a bit here on the flop play... I think it's fine the way you played it, but I'm not convinced it's optimal.Flop: SB bets, UTG+1 raises, you callNow, SB already has a bet out here so it's fairly likely he's calling two cold back to him. UTG is defnitely calling one back, so that's another 1.5BB you get in the pot right on the flop. Turn:The way you played the flop, UTG+1 is the most likely bettor on the turn (even though that did not happen in this case). So when you raise the turn (and you will have to raise, because you don't have enough overcallers to make ca
  19. That's a good point. Ok, so I like calling down better than raising the flop now. The question is... do I like calling down more than just folding? I think that decision is probably pretty close.Jeff
  20. Folds.Pretty.... pretty.... PRETTY GOOD.Jeff
  21. I like it. There's very little chance this coordinated flop didn't hit someone, but when they check again on the turn I'm reasonable sure you have the best hand.Yes, a thinking/tricky player would c/r the turn with air, but I think that would be a pretty poor bluff. Would they really check a big hand to you again on the turn? I know I wouldn't. I think the turn is actually a bet/call.If someone just calls and checks the river I probably check behind, depending on the opponent...Jeff
  22. Raise/call and fold the turn UI if he keeps the leadJeff
