  1. I think I'd stop and go a non- turn. If I get raised, I'm probably going to have to fold it, but it depends on the level of my villain's donkitude.Jeff
  2. My opinion is (again) that we should rejoin the micro and the non-micro LHE forums. That is all.Jeff/real opinion in other thread already
  3. You, sir, are a raisist! :-)
  4. That's ok, you've been wrong before :-) I agree calling the 3-bet is truly horrible. I think raising is still crap... since you didn't go into your reasoning much, let me ask you a few questions so we can get there:1) What percentage of the time do you think we have SB beat here? (please note the PF and Flop action)2) What percentage of the time do you think we have the best hand? (iow, we have them all beat)3) What do you feel our equity is in this pot by the turn?4) Assuming we have the best hand, can we make our opponents make a mistake by raising if they have any kind of legitimate
  5. Especially not with position. Easy, easy call here.Jeff
  6. And potentially charge yourself 2 more bets with a very marginal hand on this turn. If you're going to raise, at least raise/fold it. It has nothing to do with results. What you fail to realize is that you're in a 4-way pot, in horrible relative position against a villain that is showing your PF and flop aggression ZERO respect on a very coordinated board. You are drawing dead here a lot and drawing to around 2.5 outs the rest of the time (discounting for spades and other draws). Call/fold if you want to show it down. Raising really is spewing.Jeff
  7. I like the check, too. Only plausible hand he calls down with (that you beat) is a missed draw... and he'll only call a river bet if he backed into a pair along the way. Jeff
  8. Raising this turn is spewing. The only worse card would be the 9 . You should either outright fold the turn or call/fold it. I usually opt for the latter.Jeff
  9. Haven't read replies. Everyone hates PF advice, but really... just fold this. If you play it tho, I think I typically just lead the flop and hope they fold. A c/r is not bad though. You might check/call the river depending on the opponent.Jeff
  10. To what degree do you think that affected their play? I noticed most of the players bought in for considerably less than the 240k... do you think some of them treated their buy in like a cash game freeroll (so to speak) ?In other words, how different was that game from your normal game with these guys and gals? Imagine that :)FWIW, I take back what I said about GSN in a previous post. This is by far my favorite poker show. Ever.Jeff
  11. I'll bet if you sent a polite email to support they'd change it back for you.Jeff
  12. Exactly right... like not 3-betting this turn for example :)In all seriousness, you don't think we're ahead here often enough to 3-bet evidently. What's your reasoning for that?Jeff
  13. Why are you raising this UTG+1 PF?As played I think you should check/fold the river. Check/calling is a close second, and betting is pretty bad.Jeff
  14. That's weak, don't you think? This is a very easy turn 3-bet. We're ahead the vast majority of the time here.If he caps it, I'll slow down for the river, especially if the board pairs.Jeff
  15. That's my line, too. I may also 3-bet PF for fold equity.Jeff
  16. Even if everyone else folds, I'm getting 3.5-1 on the call... those odds aren't good enough?Sklansky says I can, so I do. :-) I was surprised on a recent reread of SSHE that Sklansky also advocates cold-calling with AJs and KQs on both tight and loose tables. Anyone else notice that? Anyway, I will almost always call one from the BB with KQo in a multiway pot. In a HU pot, I'm a lot more careful about it.Jeff
  17. There's no debate there. This isn't about calling down... we have the best hand the vast majority of the time. This is about extracting the most value from it and I believe OP did so. If I raise this flop and bet back into you on the turn I surely hope you'd fold A5s, A9s, A2s, 33, 44, 66, 77, 88. Depending on the villain you should probably fold TT and JJ as well. My point is why should we give villain a chance to fold if we think we have the best hand, we have position, there are no real draws, and he's betting? That's the only questionable part is whether he'll call a raise. I think he
  18. Wow. You just blew away my closet theory that all the players at the bigger games were regular TAGs. In 4,000 players, there simply must be some with gills.Jeff
  19. I rarely see people raising flops like this with whiffed overcards and underpairs. Does it happen? Sure, but I'd venture it's a minority of the time rather than the other way around.Jeff
  20. Mid pp's aren't folding to a flop raise. Neither is Qx, neither is any Ax he may have. This villain looks reasonable TAG-ish. You don't think he'd fold 66-99 to a flop raise? This board is completely uncoordinated.... what could Hero possible be raising here except a Q? At the least I think he folds those hands to a bet on the turn after you raise the flop.I really like how Hero played it. I know I sound like a broken record, but the much more difficult decision is how Hero reacts to to a river 3-bet.Jeff
  21. You think it's really that bad? An uber-passive guy just check-raised the field in a 3-way pot on the turn. I'd say folding > calling but it's prolly fairly close. I think in a HU pot I'm more inclined to call this down despite the pot being smaller... MNG makes a good point about BB hanging around. That almost certainly reduces our equity even further.Jeff
  22. Common misconception. A firewall (that you barely understand) will not help you if you are already infected with a trojan. Why? Glad you asked...Jeff, where did I say that a firewall will help you if your pc has already been infected? I didn't. But I agree with you that people do have a false sense of security after they purchase the latest "name" security software. You didn't, per se, and I didn't mean to imply that you did. I did not want people taking the italized quote above and miscontruing it into "a firewall will help me fight this trojan". I find that your posts are particularly
