  1. Not sure if this is the right forum...Daniel, I believe that you have previously expressed some agreement with Pastor Rick Warren author of "The Purpose Driven Life"What do you think of this scathing criticism of Warren by blogger (and believing Christian) Andrew Sullivan??Rick Warren, Silent Enabler of HatredSincerelyhexag1

  4. overpair hands are tricky in multiway pots.i realize that this was passive, but i felt kinda helpless against this big field..i just called the flop cuz the board was so coordinated, figured if an offsoot rag came on the turn i could pop it and make more if im ahead.comments on all streets appreciated.the hand bothers me, cuz of the rezults, which i will post later..Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is BB with [Qs], [Qc]. 6. tgarfield2000"Last time I checked Las Vegas was nicknamed "Sin City". So to imply Houston and Memphis are the most unhealthy cities in the U.S. is quite amusing""Those surveys that DN is referring to, are from fitness magazines surveying how many TV's per household and how many gyms are in a per capita area"ok im from Houston and i have some things to say. ive been allover and i can tell you that people here are unhealthier than hardly any other major city in the US. the pollution is bad [not as bad as LA tho] and the food is worse. If youre not downtown to check out all the great restaraunts
  7. that im a fan of DN, but i will say there are other players that i like better. what i really appreciate about DN is how much he gives back to the rest of "us" [e.g. small time dabblers in poker like myself] with this forum, his strategy posts, discussion and blog. no other ultra high stakes player interacts with the general poker community the way he does. sure there are some excellent posters on 2+2 who give a good perspective and post alot, but he is on another level than the best regualar posters on that forum.what i dislike about DN is his (now this is from a complete stranger's perspe
  8. 10 7 this isnt daniels favorite hand. his fave is 10 - 7 offfsooooooot. much in the same way that K 3 isnt the krablar..

  10. ill give you a topic..ok after checking my PT 6max stats i realize that by biggest positional leak is the SB in unraised pots. basically, im completing with too many hands [my SB vpip is %65]ive read on 2+2 that %40ish is about right.im making good adjustments against the BB. i realize that i must fold many more hands if the BB or the limper is aggressiveso what hands should i be completing with 1 limper? im getting 5 - 1 [in the 1/2 blind stucture] do i complete J-7o? how about 10-7o? 9-5? [my geuss is no]do these hand values change dramatically with 2 limpers? is there a point in 6max where
  11. lol. obviously open farrelling would be the ideal line, but i was in position here..
  12. word.of course i the reason i post is because......brightonian shows [ 8h, 7d ] a pair of tens.joshuawatts shows [ 9h, 4d ] a pair of tens.joshuawatts wins $4.50 from the main pot with a pair of tens with nine kicker.

  14. ummm, i hate to break it to you, but that is exactly what he wanted to do, only for even more than 5K. poker is exactly that, flipping cards for money, wagering on the uncertain outcome of a random event. if dreamclown feels that his skill edge is limited when his opponent is shortstacked, then he obviously needs to work on his game. perhaps he doesnt realize that his shortstacked opponents' skill edge is also limited in the same way by his shortstack.
  15. Ted Forrest is Gollum!OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. he didnt call allin. according to your own post, he bet allin, thats not the same thing. still a tad donkish, but not quit as bad as youre sayin.

  18. if the pot was heads up, you could bet this flop with the nut no pair hand (A KQ). as it was, you had 4 opponents. with 4 opponents, someone has probably made a pair, even if its not an A [on ths dry flop]you play these microlimit games, you know how loose-passive these players are. they call raises with any 2 preflop, and the call the flop with next to nothing. basically you are bluffing into 4 calling stations. not a winning strategy...
  19. id probably go for a flop checkraise/turn lead. but i dont like it. in short, i h8 being OOP.
  20. ive decided i like my line. i think my river check is definetely correct here, esp. becuz villain raised UTG. He sure is passive here; a turn checkraise from him would have ended the hand, but he let me see the river.from his viewpoint AQ is a possible holding for me, so he loses less when he is behind. maybe he was being cautios because id been playing so tight this session. when he called the turn i knew i was beat, becuz this board offers nothing for drawing hands.
  21. ok this is a boring hand but I want some input.UTG is fairly tightish. should i just check behind on the turn and check/fold the river?Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is MP2 with [Ah], [Kh]. 22. true. and its a small pot. but think of villains [bB] perspective. but i know ive played a wors Q this way in his spot, agains a button better
  23. top pair. unraised pot. the board pairs on the turn. villian checkraises.. I..?will he do this only when i'm behind? with a worse Q? should i call down the river unimproved, or do i bet/call??Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is Button with [Qs], [Js].
