  1. Another fun thing would be which Survivor would these poker players most play like? (Please remember Sundays I'm very bored at work and have absolutely nothing to do!!) And yes I know I'm going to get made fun of for this, but I'm tough...I can take it.Daniel- Long Island Rob from his first season. He sucked in All-stars- Not great or terrible physically (no offense). Very strategic player. Would jump into another alliance if need be, but would think it through firstIvey- Arias. He'd be good athletically and mentally. He'd have a great chance to win if he got to the finals. Hellmuth- Th
  2. This is right up my alley! As I used to (and still may in the future) write for Survivorskills.com, I think I have a fairly good read on this. (http://www.survivorskills.com/All-Stars/commentary/article124.html) That is the article where I picked Amber to win All-Stars before it aired. The one reason why I think Negreanu would never make it to the merge is, everyone knows how much he loves this stuff. It would give him a major advantage on how to strategize, but I think everyone would know that. Plus there would be so much backstabbing among this group, that I really think if he did make i
  3. If she had bet 300, would you have called?
  4. I agree he's not yet elite or a Poker HOF. But I think he's great and I actually thought he would win when there were 33 to go. If I had to pick one player it would be him right now. He did really good at this years WSOP as well.
  5. I agree he cant be considered in the poker elite catagory yet, but that doesn't mean he'd be an underdog to Negreanu heads up either. I personally think Hachem is one of the best in the world RIGHT now. It's kinda like Pujols...not a Hall of Famer, but certainly on his way. Negreanu vs. Hachem would have been great, because of their contrasting styles. I think D.N. would have won if Hachem was card dead, but lost if Hachem had cards. Negreanu doesn't need cards.
  6. Greenstein vs. Sebok.Reece vs. BlochDN vs. IveyRousso vs. D'Agistino
  7. Wow...I had no idea the feud. I'd love to see them heads up at a tournie.
  8. There is no way you can win the Main Event and not be both super lucky and really good. I mean to aquire all those chips is just insane...you have to be doing MANY things right. Hachem and Raymer have already proved their world class players, and though Moneymaker really hasn't done much since, that week he showed he could make some solid laydowns and tough calls (Dutch Boyd with 3/3). Jamie Gold gets a lot of smack talked about him, and while I'll never know how people didn't realize he was always telling the truth, he dominated that final table.
  9. I'm not the speak to hear my own voice kinda guy...though I know I've posted a lot the last two days. I just consider the Main Event the Super Bowl of poker. Anything after (meaning during the WSOP, not WPT events) just isn't in it's league...even if the fields are uber strong. And I think winning the Main Event is harder than winning a WPT event, even though clearly the field is much stronger in a WPT.
  10. I dont know the answer, but a major complaint about the WPT is the blind structure at the final table.
  11. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to win one along with the cash that comes with it. And anyone who wins one I certainly don't begrudge. It's just if you're Hellmuth/Chan or Brunson, I think the one's that start after the ME don't carry as much weight as the one's that start before it.
  12. Clonie Gowen!! C'mon!! Point proved...if she can make it in final 20 then anyone can!! J/KWhat I mean is, after the Superbowl, no one really cares about the pro bowl. And after the World Series, the trip to Japan by the MLB players generates no buzz. I'm not saying the filed isn't tough, what I'm saying is after the Big One starts, there shouldn't be any bracelet events.
  13. This is the reason I posted this thread. If Hachem thinks like this, I can understand his reasoning, but still don't agree. Especially against Negreanu who can punish weakness. I remember during one HSP game against Hellmuth, Hellmuth checked in the dark, and Negreanu bet 10K in the dark. I thought that was an awesome move. As far as what you just said...I think if I was truly scared of all this, I would have folded instead of called. Though Negreanu plays so many hands, folding to him constantly is death.
  14. Actually the play didn't work out. He made his straight and never got paid off. And who said Hachem is a bad player? Personally, I think he's one of the best in the world. I just wanted other people's opinion on the check in the dark play.
  15. In all honesty, I don't know why you're letting this guy get to you. He's probably loving every second of getting under your skin and your fans skins. I'm telling you he knows he's being rude, and probably never acts like this in front of people.
  16. No, that's not it. I think it's because of the Cindy Violette comment.
  17. I think that was the author game. The first person who would be eliminated would announce next to VVP. He was the first one out.
  18. Man do you guys get an electric shock everytime someone starts a new topic?? Again, I don't do flame wars. But I work alone on Sunday's so I have lots of free time today. And my regular online forum has very few people in it...so I like this one. But I already agreed that I wont start any more threads till I reach 500 posts. That should be 40 Sundays from now or so. Good Day.
  19. I thought Norman Chad was great when he said, "It's not fair. He's an announcer, he knows all his opponents hole cards!!" I like Norman Chad.
  20. Well always is obviously an overstatement. But he doesn't really gain position. He gives up a chance for aggression. The player now has a free chance to check if he wants a free card. Do you think Hachem's check against Negreanu worked?
  21. The other non-disputable fact is Negreanu is a celebrity, and therefore able to get information that non-celebrities can not. In my old job, I would see how celebrities would often meet with politicians...like Christie Brinkley, Joe Torre, even that dork from American Idol! I don't know if he has or not but Negreanu can probably can meet with local and maybe even state politicians that know more about current politics than most Cornell professors.
  22. I may be wrong, but didn't he not raise the flop with them? I'm thinking there may have been a subtle yet important difference in the way he played it last time when he got eliminated.
