  1. If you push on the flop your going to get called 90% of the time if the villian has called your preflop raise and let out on the flop. So its just a matter of whether or not you want to gamble here. If he just has a K or Q your still a 56% favorite so I think its +EV to push. I think calling is bad here because if you miss on the turn you will probably be facing a larger bet by the villian for all of your stack and faced with a tough decision. So I think its push and hope all the wayJack
  2. $5 multi on APBlinds are 10-20 and we start with 1500 in chipsFirst hand I get dealt QQ in late positionFolded to me, I raise 60 making it 80 to go folded to BB who makes it 280 Now I know going broke with QQ this early in the tournament is very fish like but I also see this as a great spot to double up early. I pushed and was called by AK who hit and wonMy thinking now is that I should have just called and folded when the K hit on the flop, but it is very easy to second guess yourself.I think it is +EV to push right there because of the range of hands I could possibly get called with (JJ-77,
  3. Im a college student and waited til the last minute to do a paper... I got all finished but my comp froze and i had it saved but it took to long to reboot and by the time i got it it was too late. Any ideas for any excuses for me to use on Monday when I go crying to my proffesor?
  4. yea i dont play the first hand... something bad could happen like you flop 10s full on the first hand of the WSOP and end up slow playing a hand in which you were drawin completely dead. Man that would suck Jack
  5. ok well this was my first time playing with this group, i didnt have a great read on the table other than the fact that it was a little passive with a few tricky players. I pretty much figured I had the best hand which is why I raised. I didnt feel like anyone was looking for a limp reraise. I had about 80 in front of me and the table avg was about 120.
  6. playing in a live 1-2 NL cash game. AK in the BB 5 limpers including SB$12 in the potWhats your play?... i know playing AK out of position is always tricky but I don't understand how you can not raise here. On the original hand I raised 13 making it 15 to go (which was a massive and stupid overbet) and ended up getting one caller who was short stacked and flopped a set of 3s and i was forced to call due to the odds i was getting layed. So do you check here? raise 6, raise 10? Thanks, Jack
  7. Thank you for the replyYes he had a very large stack, around 50k. I didnt put him on AK, AQ, or AJ because he limped in, no preflop raise. So A-8, A-7, and 7-8 were very distinct possibilties. I just am asking, is leaving myself with 20 BB enough to wait for a better spot or should I get in there and gamble. Even if he has no pair and a hand like 9-10 its still not an automatic call for me because in tournaments you can win lots of small pots and cruise through the tournament never putting your chips at risk. This is a very easy fold to make if I hd more chips, I dont know however if I should
  8. 50 left in a tournament, top 27 pay, I have 25k, blinds are 500-1000 with a 100 chip ante. I get dealt AK suited in the SB.UTG limps, folded around.I know AK is not a hand you want to get into it with out of position but I felt that I could win the pot right there. I raise to 3500, BB folds, UTG calls. Flop is A-7-8 I bet out 2500, opponent goes all in. I take a long time and eventually fold because I was doing very well at winning small pots and slowly moving up and I felt like I still had enough chips (20 BB) where I could wait for a better spot. I know that my flop bet was very week and a f

Blinds are 100-200The short stack is in the BB and now only has 250 and will obviously be the SB next hand. I am under the gun with QQ with the two big stacks to act behind me. 15. Over the past several weeks I have learned one thing about myself and my online poker game, I have no discipline. Not one ounce. I get $50 into my account and I start "grinding away" at the .2-.4 limit tables for about a half hour until i get bored, and then its on to the $20 sitngos!!! Maybe if i started with more in my account i wouldent get as bored, i dont know. I have won 3 $5 multi-table tournaments on absolute poker, which has kept my overall net away from the red, but my bankroll management definately needs help. I just won my 3rd tournament which i did cash out and should give me a l

  20. First of all let me start off by saying that I consider myself much more knowledgeble in the game of No Limit Texas Hold Em vs. Limit. So of course I go and get into an argument with my friend who is the best limit hold em player I know about limit. We have debated over the past several weeks about how many people you would like to see a flop with when you hold A-A. He says that it is much more profitbale to have 9 men to the flop each time he holds A-A, while I claim that 3-5 is a much better number. My defense is that with more hands to beat you your win rate will decrease drastically as com
