  1. If he's stolen from you in the past three rounds; I would have re-raised him all-in with your Jacks pre-flop.Since you didn't, there is now $72K in the pot and you have $39K left. I would fire out all-in at this point and hope that he didn't catch a queen. If he had QQ, KK or AA, then he would have re-raised you all-in preflop so I think that you're most likely ahead after the flop.
  2. I agree with the above poster; ETFs are a solid option - here's a link below as Ameritrade has put together a good site for investors who want to know more about ETFs.http://www.ameritrade.com/offer/etf.htmlOn mutual funds, if you do your homework, you can find some good ones out there but stick to the ones with no loads (fees) and low expense ratios. Morningstar is a good starting point for your research.http://www.morningstar.com/
  3. There's been quite a few articles about a coming housing bubble - this LA times article comes from this financial blog that I read. But there have been other articles also.http://jeffmatthewsisnotmakingthisup.blogs...utual-fund.htmlI know that the Las Vegas market has hit a downturn and the # of interest only ARM loans seems to be on the rise. I think that saavy real estate investors will do fine but the easy money is past and many inexperienced investors will feel the pain.

Here's a question for the soccer buffs out there - Is Landon not good enough to play for Bayer Leverkusen as it seems that he rode the bench most of the time? I thought that he was one of the better players around as he did well in the world cup in 2002.Now he's coming back to the U.S. albeit to play for the Galaxy, not the Earthquakes. In terms of comparing MLS to the world, using baseball as an analogy, would it be AAA, AA or A when compared to the MLB?
  8. Pre-flop, I would have raised at least 3xBB; raising just 2xBB made it an easier call for the BB. Raising 3xBB leaves player B with about 1220 chips; still enough to make a decision of whether to play or not after the flop.Post-flop, it then becomes a push or check hand for me as putting in any type of raise after the flop makes you pot committed. With that flop, I would probably push.In B's case, I would fold as my guess is that A hit the 10. If player A has an A or Q with the 10, then one of your two overcards is gone also. If B is going to call a all-in reraise, then B should have jus
  9. This was from Poker Mountain; don't think that I can get hand histories yet so I couldn't use the converter.Nl $0.5 - $1 ; I had about $18 at the table. In UTG+2, I picked up 10's. I bet out 4xBB ($4). Two callers; blinds both fold.Flop was J 9 5 rainbow. I bet my remaining $14 to try to take down the pot right there. Too aggressive?
  10. PokerStars 1/2 Omaha/8 (7 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is MP1 with [2h], [Ad], [8h], [Ah]. 1 fold.Flop: (5 SB) [Jh], [5h], [5c] (2 players)SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.Turn: (3.50 BB) [8d] (2 players)SB bets, Hero calls.River: (5.50 BB) [3d] (2 players)SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.Final Pot: 7.50 BBWould you raise on the turn? I checked as I hadn't made my low and I only had two pair for high.
  11. I push with the 6c 5c from MP - the J x hands are junk. Also, pushing from MP tends to give you a bit more respect as many players assume that that the further you are away from the BB, the better your hands are. They will tend to fold better hands as they will give you more respect.I would also push with 4d 5s UTG as I'd rather push with that than wait for the BB. A push from UTG has a better chance of isolating and giving you a better chance of winning the hand.
  12. Thanks for showing these hands; very interesting. In these two examples, you fired out continuation bets with a ragged flop with no cards above a 10. What is your strategy if one or two paint cards show up on the flop that miss you completely? Do you just check? If you are re-raised after the flop or bet into on the turn after a cold call (no improvement for you on the turn), would you normally fold at that point even if the bet was small? It seems like in these examples, the best you could hope for was a top pair so I would fold to any strength.
  13. I believe that the promotion is still going on; you should e-mail their customer support to confirm. Not much traffic these days - it's slow. They just finished up a bunch of freerolls for players who racked up a bunch of summit points and there was pretty good traffic then, now it's sort of dead.
  14. What were the starting blinds?I would have checked after the flop as you were first to act and there's not much in the pot yet assuming that the blinds are low.You have some draws but you have no position - why fire out a quarter of your stack on a draw to win a small pot?I'm surprised your opponent called with TPTK although many players fall in love with that. He should have folded IMHO.
  15. You're getting 1.8 to 1 on your call. Your only sure out is the J of hearts; all your other outs could be dead.AK seems to be the most likely holding. AQ is possible although if he's tight, I would think that he would have folded to your raise. JJ, 10 10 are also possible. I think that you're behind and I would lay this down.
  16. I'll be playing in it - won it with the free entry that they give you when you sign up.

  22. E-mail customer support - if you have accumulated 2,000 FPP (doesn't matter if you've used them already, as long as you accumulated them), then they will give you the capability to create private tournaments.
  23. That was very cool - I got a feeling of "deja vu" when I saw the words about "blue" before the chorus kicks in, the lines about living in a blue house etc. seem familiar.I always wondered what the real words were to that song by the wayYour son is obviously very talented - great job!
  24. Well you've gone from $50 -to $400 which means that you've been lucky, you could also be a good player. But good players get nailed by the variance just like every player.Take a look at some of the previous articles on bankroll management. Basically 300x the BB is a good rule to follow. Take the opportunity to drop down to $.50/$1 or $1/$2 - you can then outlast a bad streak which will hit you at some point.
  25. About 2,700 chips in the pot, it will cost another 2,200 to call her all-in.Can't really put her on KQ or 10 10, but AJ or JJ seem like possibilities. Maybe even AK. It's still early in the tournament, I would fold at this point as you are drawing to 12 outs. You still have 3,200 chips after this hand and would still be in good position.
