Hello,PokerStars has become aware of two players who were working together in our Sit & Go tournaments to the detriment of other players. You were involved in at least one tournament with these players and as a result you may have been adversely affected. The players' accounts were closed and their funds frozen pending a thorough investigation, which is now complete. Fortunately the problem was identified quickly and they had only played in a few tournaments before the accounts were closed. In a case such as this it is our policy to confiscate the colluders' winnings or balances and to distribute them to the players affected by their actions in as fair a way as possible. To confirm your credit, log onto your PokerStars account, go to the 'Cashier' screen and click the 'History' button. Your share will be shown "Credit Purchase", followed by the amount of the credit.I regret that we will be unable to answer questions as to how your specific credit amount was calculated. Likewise, we are not at liberty to identify the specific games or players in question. Suffice to say that they have been barred from the site and you will not encounter them again. The integrity of the games at PokerStars is of paramount importance to us and we will not abide cheating or collusion in our games. We work hard to police our games and prevent such instances. In the rare cases where collusion has actually occurred, we make sure that any players affected are compensated appropriately.Thank you for your continued play here on PokerStars. Please do not hesitate to let us know any time we can be of help.Regards,MarkWPokerStars Collusion Investigation TeamThis was a $13 SnG too.. You'd think you'd collude at least 25 dollar games...

Nice. But if I colluded, I think itd be at these lower stakes since higher stakes would be against smarter people and more likely to draw attention. Not that I'd ever collude. Or would I?

I wonder what they consider colluding....? I used to play in the same sit n gos as a friend all the time. I was wondering if they judge collusion on players playing in a bunch of sit n gos together? Im guessing its more involved than that. How can someething like this be proven?

It could probably be proven by looking at hand histories. For example: Victim opens for a raise, Bad Guy 1 calls Bad Guy 2 re-raises. Victim folds, BG1 folds. BG2 gets chips. Could be a squeeze play, but not with 83o, and J6o, right?or: BG1 bets a lot with nothing, BG2 raises with nothing. BG1 pushes. BG2 folds. BG1 gets chips back.or: BG1 flops a set, BG2 flops a straight. They check it down.

Collusion detection is pretty complex and a lot goes into it.A site like Stars would use some automated tools to flag situations or they would start to investigate based on player complaints. A real person would then take a look at things and make a judgement.Stars has a large security department and there is no question in my mind that they do the best job in this area of the sites although it's impossible to catch all the colluders.
