a difficult decision-leaving gamesgrid behind

Recommended Posts

Within the next two days, after the 72 hour window closes, I will be semi-reluctantly leaving Gamesgrid. It was a fun run, and I wound up making almost 200 dollars, but there's a couple problems that I have.1) I'm working full time now (45 hours a week) combine that with family time and everything else, and I'm playing far FAR less then before2) On top of that, it is incredibly difficult to get into games that I like there. It just is to the point where it's not worth the effort.3) Well, Party network is just way better for making money :club: I'm sorry but it's true. It's still a great site, but my association with it will be over. I'll keep it installed and pay 100% of anyone who used me as a referral but my apologies to Asia and the fans of the site. It's really more issues on my side and maximizing my time playing :)Good news is I'll have a decent bankroll, and be able to move up to 1/2 when I get 5000 hands logged in at .5/1 :D

gamesgrid needs people to join, not quit Vade! but i understand it can be tough right now getting a game going.aside from that i can't see why anyone would play anywhere else. with the 1000% matching bonus you can make about $20 per day up to $5000 playing one table of 3/6 for a couple hours. the 1000% deposit bonus is for a limited time.if you sign up for VFP they pay you hourly to play. $4.50 per hour per table playing 3/6. all you have to do is play at least 10 hours per week.yesterday i played 2 hours and made 17 big bets. i've made 40 big bets playing in my first 3 days. i also spent 1 player point on the $1000 sunday qualifier and won, so i have that freeroll to play next week. also i have made about $50 of my $5000 deposit bonus. you have one year to make your whole bonus.finally (shameless plug coming) if you sign up and use a referal you can play in the new player freeroll. sign up and use scoots as your referal. if you get referals they pay you 25% of those player's share of the rake back to your account.obviously gamesgrid wants people to join, and instead of paying for advertising they pay the players to get the word out. all of these programs will definately help offset any down varience. it's a small community right now so get in on the bottom floor, it's gonna grow fast.scoots

Sorry to see your going Vade. No way I'm leaving Gamesgrid anytime soon! I'm about 3 1/2 weeks into grid and have cleared over $750 in bonuses (440 from VFP, 300 from 1000% depo). I still play some of the other sites as well, like last night I played 1050 raked hands on partypoker to clear the 25% $600 reload bonus, but Grid is da bomb! There is enough action now where I can easily 4 table the games I like to play, Dealers Choice and Hold'em.

Gamesgrid is really a flash in the pan. They did a good job getting some initial action going, but here's the problem I've seen with it all along: they never advertised in any place that would get recreational players to come. They did a lot of word of mouth advertising, but most of that winds up being between better than average players who in general, make more money off of worse than average players, rather than off of each other. Don't get me wrong, I made plenty of money there even aside from the bonuses, but compared to the action almost anywhere else, GG was pretty much a rock garden. The bonuses were great and all while they lasted, too, but the lack of games (I've never seen more than 2 5-10 tables at a time, and I haven't even seen 1 going in the last week..and I don't recall ever seeing a 10-20) and the lack of players, and the fact that they cut the bonuses in half, makes it hardly worth the effort. And the 1000% bonus sounds great and all, but it takes forever and a day to even get any of it.Unless the action picks up really soon, I'm going to cash out of GG and take my money elsewhere. It simply doesn't make sense to fight for a seat at 1-2 Hold'em when I could have my pick of seats at Party and make 3 or 4x as much for my time.

I don't really know, I've never used it. I was just joking with him, but I'm sure there is a way. It's probably expensive though.

Honestly, I was going to try it out, because of the VFP bonus, and the amt of hours I play, multi tabling, would make it worth the lack of variety of games. But... They switched to manual approval, never even got back a "you're in the queue, or... thanks but no thanks". So I doubt I'm not even sure I'll bother making the $500 deposit, or referring my friends over. =)Shame too... they'd get a crapload of rake from me... I play an easy 1000 hands/day.

I obviously cant promise this or have any way to validate it, but I can tell you that if you play 1000 hands/day you will quickly goto the top of the list. They are giving out VFP based on action, play, referrals, etc. I know people that I have referred who got in within 3 days (after they started limiting) and I know people who have been on the list for 2 weeks. Even while you are waiting on the VFP clearing $1 for every 5 FPP points is still a nice little bonus and it pays out every night. I'll split your rake back too if you use me which is basically 12.5% net rakeback. I think you should give it a whirl for a week and see what happens

The bonus is really hard to clear. I play 1/2 hold em mostly and a lot of the time you cant even get a game. When you do get a game you get .25 fpp for every $10 pot and .5 for every $20 pot etc... To get $1 you need 5 fpp (20 $10 pots or 10 $20 pots). This is not esay because a lot of the players are tight and pots dont get big unless there are a few people with good hands. I find the competition to be beatable but definetly not like some of the other sites.

I dont think that is correct unless they have changed it. First of all they max the rake at $1 for the $1/$2 tables. At $5 they rake $0.25, $20+ its $1.Click on http://www.gamesgrid.com/poker/faq.html and scroll down to "What are the rakes?" there is a nice table there. I think the rake is very much in line with all the other online sites.

I signed up through your link last week sometime. =) But honestly... I don't know if I'll ever deposit... From what I keep hearing, there aren't enough games for me to get my 1000 hands going, at a consistant limit, with the same amount of time invested. Im really not willing to allocate, $500, deal with swings on limits higher than I may want to play, because of the lack of tables, in hopes I get a chance to add myself to the VFP list. If I get on VFP, i'd play, only because it'd increase my bb/hr to the same it is, on my other sites. I really only signed up, because I thought VFP was automatic. Until the site gets bigger, I can't devote the time to it... I clear more than $20/day in bonuses from my other sites... and honestly, thats nothing compared to what I generate from actual winnings, so its not enough.

im a huge gamesgrid advocate. The problem is that theyre just starting up and most of the complaints I hear go hand in hand with what a start up site would face. so instead of complaining why not help rectify the situation cuz the pros of gamesgrid are too good to ignore. so help promote gamesgrid. tell your friends to join, and tell them to tell their friends. pay it forward mang. thats how we can help expand gamesgrids player base and by doing that almost all the problems you have with gamesgrid will be eliminated and you can concentrate on the juicy bonuses that gamesgrid has to offer. oh yea, and on one final note.......I'm a big fan of money. I like it, I use it, I have a little. I keep it in a jar on top of my refrigerator. I'd like to put more in that jar. That's where you come in. so if youre gonna join gamesgrid, put down FOTEENINCHES as your referral. aight peace out FCPers.

Hah you guys should have been at gamesgrid while they were paying 3 big bets/hr instead of 1.5... You were making $9/hr at 3/6... I made $320 one week just from VFP only playing a little over 30 hours that week (but 4-tabling 3/6 so I actually didn't play much that week... I was getting payed $36/hr just to play poker)There were actually a lot more games going then, but since they reduced the payment to 1.5 bigbet/hr, a lot of people have left or haven't been playing as much I noticed. It's still my favorite site thoughOH! And they just added triple-draw lowball!... at least they are adding it, don't see it going right now but it should be running by the end of the day I'd think

I was finally able to play a little Triple Draw last night. Played 4-handed for about 30 minutes and finished dead even.I play at Games Grid because they have Dealer's Choice and Triple Draw that I can't play at PartyPoker. But Party is much better for making money. I tried all weekend to find decent games at Games Grid, and the best I could find was a super-tight 3/6 Hold'em table. I couldn't make any money because no one would call a raise. I'm going to hold off going to GG full-time until they get a few more tables going.
