NoSup4U 0 Posted January 15, 2009 Share Posted January 15, 2009 I feel that FTP would have a very difficult time determining whether live advice is being provided via AIM or Skype or something or whether you were simply chatting with people and using AIM and Skype as a means to discuss hands after they'd taken place, which would seem to be completely legal.I'm in no way saying that FTP won't ban people for using practices that they deem to be unethical, but I'm just saying that I think they'd have a hard time making a solid decision in this matter and I would hope that they'd leave HU players alone cause we can't collude, but I won't hold my breath for anything I'm telling you they log your keystrokes if they want to. How's things?I've gone the last 48 hours without a browser because BT (broadband provider) said the bill hadn't been payed, despite the fact it had. After they realised their mistake, they said it would take 3 days to get back online. My brother phoned back and explained that we'd been customers for 20 years so deserve better treatment, and so it only took them 48 hours... Yay?It wasn't that bad, though. I couldn't surf the web, but I could get on chat programmes and could even play poker so I'm not sure what they'd done. I think maybe they just made it so all websites re-directed to BT's technical page or something. That said, I only had one sick session where the stress of robusto took it out of me and I just could not put in any more hands:Really, though, I'm feeling a bit poker-ed out as of late, and exams are starting soon so I'm gonna go on a little hiatus before returning and trying $50nl 6m. I won’t try for anything big because Rdog totally owned the soul of every other 10K post imo. So I’ll just honor a couple of requests:I was asked to post about my poker journey a little. You can read probably everything in my well, but basically I ‘went pro’ with no experience just some money saved up and a dream. I sucked for about a year and was going to have to quit poker because I was one of those people that just felt like he was SOOOO unlucky because every time I would bluff they would have it, every time I had top pair they had a set, etc. I was treading water at best at 1/2nl. I was already well past the 6 months my wife had given me to show I could be a winning player. I went to Vegas with a few of my poker buddies and my last $1500 and decided to luckbox the crap outta my first ever WSOP event From there I got some coaching and got to know some really good players who helped my game a ton and got me to where I was respectable. I’m a big believer in personal coaching for that reason, it’s what changed my game the most.Some shout outs. First off, I’d like to say thanks and I love you to everyone in this thread, it is what keeps poker from getting old and boring. She had to suffer through some pretty hard times. I’m not really into breaking stuff but I’ve smashed a lamp, smashed a phone, and kicked a hole in a wall (all on the same day ) I’ve taken wayyyy too long to learn to leave work at work so to speak. I’ve been moody and generally been a horrid person to be around at times when things have gone poorly. But she has always supported me and especially the last two years, she really has gotten good at recognizing my mood and knowing exactly how to make me happy and not say the wrong thing at the wrong time. Pretty much every day I think to myself, How can anyone do this crazy job without the support of a great wife? I know I couldn’t. My best friend Chris was just in town and left a post it note for me on my desk. He also has been my biggest poker fan (even more so than Shannon). Shan saw it and left me a post it note too a couple of days ago on our 13th anniversary. I leave you with the picture that cheers me up every day. I hope everyone in this thread also has people in their lives that make it worth living like I do.
