However, I would lead the flop, but don't mind the check/raise. As played I'd get away from it on the 3-bet, it is screaming AK/AA. The only hand I see you beating here is AJ, and he is unlikely to hold that.
Head_Trauma 0
AQ is not a great hand to play out of position against a preflop 3-bettor. Even so, I play it the same as you did preflop. I like the check-raise on the flop, it is a little more than the minimum and I think it gets you exactly the information you need. Then you took the information that you got (that you are beat), threw it out the window, and called anyway. Well played up until the last call, imo.

David_Nicoson 1
From the way you've worded your post, it seems clear you lost the hand. So, we the responders have an unfair advantage. When you called his re-raise preflop, what range did you put him on? Why didn't you put in another raise? Presumably, you figured you were behind at this point. The primary merit of your flop raise is information. (Did he a big pair like QQ or KK and you outflopped him? Or does he have AK or maybe AQ?) And I think your information is that you're beat.
DonkSlayer 1
I'm dumping it on the flop after getting r/r'd.
