magnus72 0
Tonight we are having our 4th Annual Turkey home game tournament. We actually have turkey and potatoes and all the other good Thanksgiving food mid tournament. It is a great idea because nobody has to work tommorow and people are in from out of town for the holiday so we get a great turn out. There are only a few people that actually take the tournament seriously, everyone else is just getting hammered and partying pretty much so it makes for an interesting final table when half the field is totally sloshed and the other half is trying to make money ot buy groceries for the next two weeks. I am told the buy in this year is $20 with $5 bounty on everyones head. There is a special bounty on my friends head of $20 because he has been tearing up our home games the past two months and doesn't have one drink while the rest of us are drunk and basically giving him our money.I am planning on picking up a bottle of Canadian Club whiskey and seeing how far I can make it in the tourney without being able to see the flop. Anyone else got any traditions like this at all around the any holidays with your buddies. The food at this thing is better than what I will be having tommorow afternoon thats for sure. magnus72 0
Crown Royal is better!I know but I am sure my friends are going to be "borrowing" so I might as well go the cheaper route.Only thing that sucks about it is that we don't have enough chips in one guys set for everyone that shows up. We end up mixing up about four different sets. Its not fun sorting them out the next morning with a hang over let me tell you.
The Czar 0
Crown Royal is better! If I drank Canadian Club during a tourney we would need several decks to account for all the vomit.

magnus72 0
5th annual tournament coming tommorow night at 7:30Last year I got drunk at the bar before the tournament and was the second person knocked out. I managed to win about 40 bucks on side games after that though so it was a profitable night. I also ran up about five dollars worth of text messages at 4 in the morning saying Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. This year I think I am going to stick to beer so I wont get yelled at for being to hung over during my regular family Thanksgiving. eYank 0
Usually me and my friends all play a day after thanksgiving (fri night) 2 table tourney (probably one this year bc it doesnt seem like too many ppl want to play)
magnus72 0
Usually the local casino has a Thanksgiving tournament the day after that has a pretty good payout compared to its other weekly tournaments. Most of my friends that organize home games end up going to that. I have to work this Friday so i wont be able to go. We have actaully had this Thanksgiving night party since I was about 18 but nobody was playing any poker back then. Its nice becasue everyone that is away to college is usually home and instead of goign out wasting money at the bar all night you can stay in and have a good meal.
