rwood 0
i throw parties somewhat often at my house, and the last few have had hundreds attending throughout the night, probably an avg of 150 at one time. anyways i am 21 and live in a college town. so i was thinking of starting a small blackjack table in one of the rooms, maybe 1-5 bets or 1-10 $. i understand that there are a lot of things i will have to worry about if i decide to do this, but first off, i was wondering what kind of bankroll i should have acting as the house. obviously i would have enough to cover the amount of chips i allow in play. i was just entertaining the idea, i doubt i'll even do it. but it sounds profitablem espescially if i could turn it into a weekly thing. My freind's friend did this, and he did the math all wrong. He decided that whatever a player bought in for, he would just need to match that $$$ amount, but what he didn't consider was if the player were to win the hand...Example..2 guys each buy in for $10.So technically the house would need, AT LEAST $20, but that is just for the one round of betting. Now say the 2 guys each bet $10 and win. Now they both have $40 to wager. So you would now need at least $40 to accomodate them, for that round of betting. Say the both bet another $10 and win, now they both have $30. So you would now need bare minimum $60 to cover, instead of your initial $20. (it seems easy to follow but can get really complicated later down the road into the game.)I don't know if you thought that part through, but these guys didn't and they had to end up running to the ATM to pay people, lol. Of course, house always had the edge, but this is illegal, just be careful.GL either way! Some might just make a cap, but that could be good/bad for you. Some jackass might come in and try to clean you out, of course, you always have the edge, but it is so small, and for just doing this for one night, you could get roasted. Casinos have the luxury of having a 53/47 edge, EVERY second of every day of every year. So then run the edge a billion times a year, and come out a nice winner. You can only run that edge, maybe a few hundred times in a night. BlackJack Variance is worse than poker's.Basically, do you feel comfortable running your 6h6d against AsKs for money, every time? Dogpatch 2
Our weekly home game usually ended up turning into a blackajck game because we were all dealers on a casino boat. (I was training to be a dealer and had my own regulation table.) Anyway, you'll need slightly more than whatever amount you allow into play. You have to be prepared to pay out blackjack at 3 to 2. I also suggest you play 6 decks. Single deck is just too easy to beat. As for bankroll... I dunno. Maybe 3 times what you allow to be bought in.

Dratj 0
One other thing that you should consider when setting up a home game:yah, prob not worth it. Just set up a cash poker game. You probably have a bigger edge in that. I'm assuming you are good player.
pokerinc 0
be careful in an endeavor like this. You have a lot of people passing through and you don't seem to be a very thuggish looking guy. I've had a lot of friends who've gone into things like this, pot, blackjack, basic low level activities that don't get much legal trouble but generate good cash flow. The thing is, if a tougher crowd realizes you're making good money, they'll come and take it.If you're thinking of a 10 max bet anyway, it really seems like it's not worth the risk.
