Moneyball16 0
PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Villain seemed solid have seen him play 70 hands or so.Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J, J. UTG raises, 3 folds, Hero 3-bets, 5 folds, UTG caps, Hero calls.Flop: (9.50 SB) A, T, K(2 players)UTG bets, Hero raises?I raised here to get QQ to incorrectly fold here or on the turn. Is this play ever worth it? Say I never raised should I call here with just a gutshot and possibly set outs when opponent may have redraws against my gutshot and a hand that would have mine beaten even if I hit my set?Say I just call and villain checks on turn, should I bet? nrs02004 0
call the flop for straight + set outs... Raising = big spew IMO. You almost always get 3-bet or called. If you want him to fold: after calling the flop, pop the turn if a blank falls (I think I would wait to raise the river if I hit my set, and raise the turn if I make my straight). Much more fold equity there.
antistuff 0
i wouldnt put too much faith in your set outs here.
BudBundy 0
I call flop and fold turn UI.Aren't we way behind on this flop?UTG raise and cap very likely means AA or KK.
nrs02004 0
sry thought it was 6 handed =). Yeah I think we have 0 fold equity. Call flop, fold turn UI
Actuary 3
Let’s assume:He caps AA-QQ preflop all the timeAnd AK 1/2 the timeHe has QQ here 6 timesAnd AA/KK/AK 10.5 timesLet's assume he always checks to you with QQ on the turn and folds if you bet the turn. Let's assume he either 3-bets that flop, leads the turn, or c/r the turn if he has AA/KK/AKOr if he just calls your turn bet you aren't betting the river and you aren't winning. If he leads the turn, you fold turn UI.Of course you fold to a turn c/r.so, you are trying to win the 10-11 small bets in the pot. Since you will only be putting in at most 3 small bets (your raise and the turn bet if he checks), seems like you are getting 10 : 3 pot odds and he has QQ 36% of the time.caveats:- does he lead QQ as likely as AA/KK/AK leads the flop?- factor in implied odds if the T/J hits.I encourage the play.
