Niagara Area Casinos

Recommended Posts

I know this is the wrong forum... but nobody looks at the B&M forum, as far as I can tell.I'm headed home to Pittsburgh for a few days in June, and we're looking to hit up a casino. I'm interested in poker only, but I think a few friends would rather do other things. I don't feel like lugging my entire $1 million bankroll with me, so I'm looking for the lowest limits... hold 'em, Omaha, and even stud. Any suggestions? I know of Fallsview, Casino Niagara, and Seneca? Bu I haven't been there since 2001, long before Niagara had a card room and before Fallsview existed.Whatcha got?

Seneca is the American side. they usually have 3/6 limit hold em only. Then 1-2nl through 5-10nl. I was under the impression that lowest game in fallsview was 5/5nl with 500 max buyin. Anyways, they fallsview 5/5 game is supposed to be super soft and a lot more action there than at seneca.

seneca is easily the best pokerroom in the niagara region....if you go on the weekend they'll have everything from 2/4-6/12 limit 1/2-10/20NL 3/6Omaha8 and 1-5 7StudCasino Niagara only has 2/4limit and 1/2 NL....and is probably the worst of the 3 roomsFallsview has higher limits, the smallest games they run are something like 6/12limit and 5-5NLTurning stone is also a great room, but thats one hell of a drive from pittsburgh....its like 2&1/2 hours from the niagara area in central NY

Thanks for all the replies. We're going on a Wednesday/Thursday (not exactly prime, I know... blame my sister's wedding the previous weekend and the fact that I *only* get 30 days of leave per year)... 1/2 NL sounds most promising to me, how easy is it to get a seat at that mid-week at Seneca?

Something a little closer to Pittsburgh, there are the other two Seneca Casinos, Seneca Allegany and Seneca Gaming in Irving. Seneca Allegany in Salamanca, NY has mostly low limit and no limit games, A LOT of $1/$2 max $100 buy in no limit games, EXTREMELY soft on Friday and Saturday nights, especially if you can get into a table thats short at the time. Also they'll run the occasional $2/$5 no limit game, and on VERY rare occasions they'll have a $5/$10 going, also no limit. As for limit, usually $2/$4 is about it, with a table or two going at best. Never any Omaha or Stud going on unfortunately. As for Seneca Gaming in Irving, pretty much don't bother, its a complete dump. They have $1/$2 no limit games with a very rare $2/$5 games. The $1/$2 games are usually filled with 18 19 and 20 year old kids (18 and over, no alcohol served) so the games are soft, but they are all on short bankrolls so no real money can be made there. I personally would skip Seneca Gaming, as it really is a dump. I've seen games halted there numerous times because of cards flying between the pad on the table and the felt, and they had to pull in maintainance people to unscrew the tables to get the cards out. Outside of the casino life though, there isnt much to do, so if you want casino life and night life, you are better off going up to Seneca Niagara, Fallsview, or Casino Niagara, as both are near the Falls and Chippewa are near by. Seneca Allegany is my home casino, so I could tell you pretty much anything you need to know about it if you are interested

Man, thanks for helping answer my original question, which was "which of the 3 should I go to?"

seneca allegany is going to be your shortest drive, probably only a few hours from pitt. just a basic casino. no hotel or anything. only restaurant is a buffet. brand new temporary facility though. really nice place.Seneca NF will be about another hour and 45 mins north from there. Amazing 4 star facility. full hotel/spa/restaurants/night club...everything. if you just want to play poker, seneca allegany will more than suffice. if you want to play poker, have a nice dinner and and spend the night, seneca niagara falls is definitely the way to go. can't comment on the canadian casinos - never been. up side of the seneca facilities is you don't have to deal with customs...

Customs isn't a worry... Military ID is like a speed-pass.Oh, and what we'll need, more specifically, is a good all around casino, good card room with low limits, and somewhere decent nearby to sleep for the night... fast food restaurants usually suffice.

If that's what you are looking for, Seneca Allegany might be your best bet. There is a Holiday Inn (Express I think) about 1/4 mile or so from the Casino, with a Burger King and McDonalds (which, if you are there during the week, i'll sadly be there :D:club: ) All Games there are low limit, with a decent range of casino games just outside the poker room. If you decide to go there, and use the parking ramp instead of valet parking, best place to park is in the yellow zone, go in the ramp, up to the red level, then go down the exit ramp, and you'll go through the yellow zone. always close parking and its the level closest to the Casino floor.

I was just at Seneca Allegany last weekend. Decent room, and it is a good two hours closer to you than Niagara Falls. Downside ... it wasn't real busy. Saturday afternoons are usually busy, anywhere I've ever played, and this past weekend, the biggest limit game was $3/$6, and there was only one table of that. There were a handful of 1/2 NL games and one 2/4 NL game. Maybe it was the holiday weekend, but I was a little disappointed.Only Niagara area casino I have ever been to is Seneca Niagara, and that was over a year ago. Nice room. Lots of games, starting at 2/4 LHE and going up to 20/40 (when I was there).Good luck and have fun.

holiday inn express is right on the opposite side of the highway, with a BK in the parking lot. They run a shuttle over to the casino. Why not use valet? its free, and you can walk right in the front door. :club: Not sure what you're getting at with the parking ramp. its all the same walk. take the elevator all the way down and make teh trip through teh construction tunnel. If you're interested (and thinking about hitting seneca allegany), you also have the option of spending the night in ellicottville. only 10 minutes north. great little ski town - really quiet (i.e. enjoyable) in the summer. Couple great little bars, and some great restaurants. They just built a new hotel there, comfort suites or something. Lived there last summer. Really fun place to hang out in on the weekend (the town, not the hotel that is).

This was a tip for weekend parking, before I realized he's making the trip mid-week. But yeah, everything he said is true. The shuttles are constantly running back and forth from the Holiday Inn, along with from the few other smaller hotels in the area. And if you are interested, a new strip club is opening in the next few days about 10 minutes from the casino, if you are looking for things to do outside of Seneca Allegany Casino.
