$50 to $1000 on pstars day 30

The GoalTo turn $50 in my first Pokerstars deposit into $1000.The RulesI'll play only Limit games, primarily Holdem, though I might mix in some O8 or Stud etc. later on.I won't move up in limits without at least 300BB for the new limit. I will post hands that I win and lose and explain my thinking behind how I played them.I'm too lazy to spellcheck. Deal with it.Breaking even sucks, breaking even is great.Played two sessions since the last post, each around 500 hands, each ended about even.In the first one, I was playing full table, 5 tabling and was up about $30 when I just started getting hammered in huge pots by crazy junk. 8to rivering two pair to beat my AA ,etc. You've all been there. I got to 500 hands and was down about $0.50. Man playing all that time and finishing basically breaking even sucks.In the second one I was playing six max and running into sets against my top two pair, rivered straights against my sets, etc. I was down about $30 after 200 hands, then things turned around and when I got to 500 I was up about $.50. hahaha ty, not starting a war again........but call pre-flop with only 2 in the pot is marginal at best regardless of being in bb...........call on flop horrible...............CHECK CALL ON TURN(not to mention you have somebody behind you that could easily be checkraising with a straight and full house possibilities) and you call with bottom pair???........funny thing is you won the hand but definitely not because you played it right. Yes your hand posting helps but this hand should not have been posted as it is setting a bad example for your clones of calling with bottom pair with when the board is paired and a straight draw is out.

As an aside, I people who try and slowplay big hands and it comes back to bite them in the ass. Such as your friend with the aces. *I still smile when I thinks of the guy that checked his set of aces on the flop AND turn and thus allowed me to hit my runner-runner straight on the river.

Do you ever feel as though you've had a bad session, yet finished the session with an increased BR?The reason I ask is because of my play this weekend (obviously). I feel like I played poorly. I missed value bets on the river when I just "knew" that I was drawing dead. I folded to maniacs on the turn when I held the best hand. I became a calling station when my gut told me I was no good and I should've listened (3 suited on the board, 3 to a straight, someone clearly betting with a set). And yet I ended both of my two sessions (500 hands each) up $25.00. In short, I fell into a tight-weak mode of play that allowed others to bully me around. I was actually angry with myself for my poor poker play.And yet I won at a decent rate. Talk about your mixed feelings.

Smash,Sorry if you've talked about this before and I missed it, but do you do anything in regards to table selection or do you just sit down at four or five tables and plow ahead regardless?Do you ever leave really tight tables or do you just get more agressive at that table? If so, how do you keep track of table composition when 5 tabling?Just wondering...

Well, considering that Stars normally only has about 5 .50/1 full tables going, there's not a lot I can do in regard to table selection.If the full tables are fairly tight, I'll sometimes mix in some six max tables or go play that exclusively.
