goose 0
In the AHL expansion draft I had last pick, so I assumed I wouldn't be able to pick this guy up, but amazingly he was overlooked in the first three picks (Langkow, Allison, and Dallas goaltending was taken ahead of him).I even used Kunitz in the FCHL (getting me 2 goals in 2 games), where the talent pool was much better... since I saw him play in a Ducks game in Toronto I've been very impressed, and he's scored tonight for Anaheim.Although a late bloomer (26 years old) he had 41 points and 19 goals in under 70 games in what is officialy his rookie season. I think he's going to be a very solid minimum 2nd line winger.
nell789 0
nice pickup. You should post all your picks, I'm very interested to see what your team looks like. (you too DM)

Chris Kunitz2. Chad Larose3. Kristian Kudroc4. Oleg Saprykin5. Alex Burrows6. Mike GlumacBrian Willsie, Jan Bulis, Sean Avery, and Kunitz are all current 40 point producers, which, considering the number of teams in the AHL, is pretty solid for an expansion team that hasn't yet traded away draft picks and only $3.50 in cap space for the upcoming season.... so far I'm pretty happy with how things are going. My selections in the expansion draft were Kunitz, Yakubov, Burrows, and Saprykin, the rest of the players were acquired for cash. nell789 0
Ok, that's a start I suppose, I'm so used to seeing rosters from the FCHL...I think every one of my forwards this year scored more points than every one of the forwards you currently have, lol. What kind of entry draft picks do you have the next couple years because you're an expansion team? goose 0
we get the last 4 picks in each round for the entry draft.... because I was last to pick in the AHL expansion draft I get the 17th pick, while DM, having picked first in the expansion draft, picks 20th. digitalmonkey 929
Kunitz wasn't overlooked, he was passed over. I think his icetime will be cut into by Lupul, Perry, Getzlaf and Ryan when he shows up.
digitalmonkey 929
nice pickup. You should post all your picks, I'm very interested to see what your team looks like. (you too DM)Here's the players I have acquired:D - Janne Niinimaa - Dallas StarsD - Chris Pronger - Edmonton OilersD - Ladislav Smid - Anaheim Mighty DucksD - Henrik Tallinder - Buffalo SabresD - Francis Boullion - Montreal CanadiensD - Nick Boynton - Boston BruinsF - Nils Ekman - San Jose SharksF - Jason Allison - Free AgentF - Michel Ouelette - Pittsburgh PenguinsF - Ian Laperierre - Colorado AvalancheF - Mike York - New York IslandersF - Martin Lapointe - Chicago BlackhawksF - Nigel Dawes - New York RangersF - Matthew Lombardi - Calgary FlamesF - Alexei Kaigorodov - Ottawa SenatorsF - Guillaume Latendresse - Montreal CanadiensF - Robbie Schremp - Edmonton OilersG - Anaheim Mighty Ducks GoaliesI haven't given up much at all.I gave up a first round pick in 07/08 for Schremp and Kaigorodov. I'll do that every day of the week and twice on Sunday.I traded my 1st and 2nd picks in 08/09 and 09/10 to Shootloose for his picks in the same years for Ouellet, Ekman, Lapointe and Latendresse. So there is a possibility that these players will cost me nothing at all.I've traded $4.00 in 06/07.In the meantime, I've also improved my 2nd pick in 06/07 from 40th overall to 29th overall. And I've turned my 5th pick in 06/07 (100th overall) into a 4th pick in 06/07 (73rd overall).

I think his icetime will be cut into by Lupul, Perry, Getzlaf and Ryan when he shows up.Well considering they've been consistently dressing him on the top line, I'm not too sure about that His 1G1A so far tonight looks pretty good. digitalmonkey 929
Well considering they've been consistently dressing him on the top line, I'm not too sure about that His 1G1A so far tonight looks pretty good.Yeah, we'll see how he does as the icetime for Getzlaf, Perry, Lupul and Ryan increases. Zajac was a nice pickup.EDIT: I picked up Anson Carter.
goose 0
yeah I had my eyes on Zajac from day one, he's a little less valued than Parise right now, but I think he has the potential to be a first line centre on the right team.... we'll see. I got stuck with Hamrlik though, which might be a gamble, but we'll see what happens, hopefuly he'll be a 45 point producer next year if he stays healthy, but we'll see.Carter was a solid acquisition. goose 0
Just as a quick update Kunitz has 3 goals and 1 assist in 3 games playing on the top line with McDonald and Selanne, not to mention solid PP minutes.
strategy 4
Just as a quick update Kunitz has 3 goals and 1 assist in 3 games playing on the top line with McDonald and Selanne, not to mention solid PP minutes. I watched the Blues game last night. One was a deflection off of a Selanne shot and the other was just a case of a Blues defender using his stick to try to break up a pass and deflecting it right to Kunitz' tape in front of the empty side of the net. Sucked to watch Sanford stand on his head and still lose like that, but I'm sure you're happy about it

I like him, he's not afraid of contact in front of the net.

I like him, he's not afraid of contact in front of the net.Regardless of how much skill either goal took, the guy is getting quality time with the best players from Anaheim. That's definitely worth something. I'm not trying to dog him or anything.
Belanger25 3
To think Anaheim waived him at the beginning of last season and Atlanta picked him up and waived him again and Ana took him backLuck
DB10-2 0
i picked him from the outset in my yahoo league. in retrospect, i don't even know why, but it was definitely on purpose and it is paying off nicely.
goose 0
4G3A in 6 games. In AHL terms that's the same offensive output as Wellwood in 1 less game.
