Rabsox386 0
I have a set of Blue Chip Grand Islands. Bought them with case cards and shipping for just over $500 for 500 chips. These seem to be what you're looking for. Interesting colors, low denoms available, good quality clay chips. I have 25cent 50 cent $1 $2 $3 and $5. These are the same exact chips from the same buyer i got them from and i couldn't be happier.http://cgi.ebay.com/500-set-Grand-Island-C...1QQcmdZViewItem
chrozzo 19
Just splurge and get a set of Paulsons....one of the best buys i've ever made.

dansheetz 0
good thorough discussion of what you are talking about:http://www.homepokertourney.com/chips-hpt.htmThese are the pokerchips.com style... all clay, with a matte finish, not slick. Chipco chips are also popular now, and many casinos are using those because I think they offer higher security and are more durable. If you've ever played at the Palms in Vegas or Lucky Chances in San Fran, those are Chipco chips. The artwork goes all the way to the edge, and there is no stamp. There's also printing on the edges. They are nice, but I still prefer the ones from PokerChips.com. I'll be investing some time soon.
ShakeZuma 585
Bump. Thanks to all the replies. As for who posted about the Grand Havana's... They are actually one of my top choices for the final purchase. The colors are really nice and the denominations are what I'm looking for. Also, the Paulsons so far are OK, its just I can't really get past the small inlay. I know, I'm a picky bitch. Other than that, though, the chips do look awesome.Like I said in an above post, I ordered a sample set of the InPlay's. You can check them out here. http://www.sidepot.com/inplay_clay_poker_c..._chips_s/24.htmWho knows what or when I'll actually buy, but thanks for the inpupt, I appreciate it. alf13 0
Yeah pokerchips.com's are really nice, they're right up there with my top choices. I only have two questions about them:1. Can you get a full inlay, not like covering the entire face of the chip, but at least farther out than the ones they have shown on their site? I don't like the really small centers.2. I read on one chip review site that they were more fragile than other clay chips. Have you had any problems with this? You can't get a full inlay with PC.com.They are not fragile.if you want a full inlay...try TRKING....or the Blue Chip Company...but I warn you...both of them are VERY PRICEY.Pokerchips.com is your best bet.Remember...I am kinda an authority on poker equipment...
alf13 0
Like I said in an above post, I ordered a sample set of the InPlay's. You can check them out here. http://www.sidepot.com/inplay_clay_poker_c..._chips_s/24.htm.OH GAWD! I didn't see this post....Those chips suck....they are made by Blue Chip but for some reason...they have alot of off-centered Inlays...their quality control is crap...they weigh alot less than Paulsons and PC.com chips and Inlay looks like puke in person....other than that...they are great. Thanks for the input, Alf. And you are definately right about the TR King and Blue Chip prices. They are pretty outrageous. I found a set that TR King made, Rouders replicas, but the site had run out of their supply and weren't ordering anymore. I contacted the guy and he said TR King would make me a set, but at 1.50 a chip. Fark that.
Crash72 0
I used some of my Poker Source Online points...http://www.pokersourceonline.com/index2.asp...to get a gift certificate to Poker-Wholesale.com...http://www.pokersourceonline.com/member/st...ult.asp?cat=GCs...to buy these NEXGENs...http://www.poker-wholesale.com/products/pw...00nexgen12.htmlNo denominations so they're adaptable to whatever stakes you want. Mix and match colors. $115 (+ $25 or so for shipping) for 500 chips with case and cards. Great weight, feel, color and sound. PSO also has a Nevada Jacks free 300 chip set promotion that you can upgrade to 500 chips (check the Forum - Promotions section) but the smallest demonination is $1.
blueodum 0
I've collected numerous samples over the past year, in preparation for buying a complete set. A very nice set of claychips are the TR King "Deadwood" series:http://www.apachepokerchips.com/deadwoodpo...pokerchips.html
Uppie_ 0
how many you looking to buy? if your looking to buy a large quanity of paulsons there are a couple of poker distrubitors that could give you a good deal. but i think the Min order is 5,000. but 85cents a chip for paulsons if you order that many. Good price lots of chips and tight margins if you want to resell the ones you don't want.and www.paulsonchips.com i think does both.
ShakeZuma 585
Update:I just got my sample set of the InPlay chips from sidepot gaming. I have to say my feelings are mixed. While a lot of the chips are pretty nice, two of the ones that I would use the most, the 25cent and 5 dollar, are pretty unnattractive. The one dollar one is actually one of the best 1 dollar chips I have seen though. I'm not really sure what I think about this, so I think I'm gonna order samples of the Grand Island's and of the old Fan of Cards chips. I'll see where that goes.BTW... the inplays are advertised as being "broken in". The don't seem broken in at all to me, really. Just a few scuffs over the face of them. The edges are actually still pretty sharp. And Alf, none of the ones I recieved had off center lables (at least not that bad, anyways). Did you see a full set or something that had a bunch? ShakeZuma 585
Damn, but from what I've heard thats actually pretty standard from Blue Chip. Apparently they've had quite a bit of a quality control problem and havn't fixed it yet.Did he get the high denominations or the low ones? Cause I think most of the high ones look alright, but like I said above, I think the 25c and 5 dollar are pretty ugly.
bakoda24 0
Shake man, I'm with ya! Take your time, if you're gonna spend $.95+ a chip they better be perfect for ya. this thread is actually super helpful for me.I don't really like poker.... i just love playing with chips, unfortunatly that meant i had to get good at poker :-) never seen anybody at the black jack table with a HUGE stack of chips infront of them.... well not for long at leastgood lucksw on the i don't like poker part
ShakeZuma 585
http://www.holdempokerchips.com/default.aspI just did some checking from www.homepokertourney.com and found that this website apparently is working on a new set of Paulsons. Hopefully this new set will be even nicer and have some of the previous problems worked out. I'm looking forward to it.

ShakeZuma 585
Yeah, those are pretty much the ugliest ones. Other than the $10 which is friggin brown. I mean BROWN. Another update:In my searching today, it seems like the Grand Island chips are sold out or amost sold out and doesn't seem like theres gonna be anymore made. Now I'm pretty much banking on the new Paulsons.
