Guest
When I called the number, it didn't ask for a postal code, just a zip code so I sent it to my aunt's house in mich. Cool how you picked up the little mistakes in the video, like when I read a book and see the spelling mistakes because all they use is spellcheck..I did like the fact that he had people of different genders and races and heights in his video. (could that one guy be any taller?)JackTheCat It's all good!I think Daniel was using the tall guy as a way of showing people that he isn't afraid to take on anybody no matter how big they might be.
Randy Reed 0
Well the chicks were pretty hot. Hooper talks out of the side of his mouth and is kinda a goober. Um, well, I'll let you decide. If you aren't into reading the books you will probably pick some tips up.

instyle007 0
I ordered my DVD Jan 30th, live in Canada and have not received it yet. One month seems a bit outrageous to receive anything really. The good news... my payment was taken the same day I ordered it.
Naked_Cowboy 0
No, seriously. The number it gives you to check order status is never answered. I've called 10+ times during normal business hours, got automaticaly moved to hold, and then sent to voicemail after a few minutes on hold. Voicemails I've left haven't been answered, my credit card was charged almost 3 weeks ago for the dvd + RUSH SHIPPING and I haven't received the package. Is there anyone who can give some guidance here? flintsword 4
Painless to order. It was an automated order sequence so of course they made a mistake on my name, voice recognition software being still a little primitive. I broke off some serious time and watched it.REVIEW of Daniel Negreanu's Poker DVD from an amateur:On the whole, it is a good product and I would (& have) recommended it to anyone. Let's get Phil Hellmuth's product out of the way by stating a fact: DN DVD is a big *step up* from PH in both content and production.DN obviously went out of his way to work with a professional team. Special effects are used but not tacky (like some poker DVDs that will remain nameless to protect the poker players devoid of any taste). I really liked the flow of the DVD. Having the cards used in the examples *ready* saves time and with no card fumbling. The structure is outstanding. Poker is about people, so I find that the idea of using a beginner, an intermediate player, and an advanced player to teach some improvement ideas is great.Beginner: Good, simple, and clear. The idea that you want a solid foundation was well contributed and the student was eager and missing the intensity of the better poker player, which is normal being a beginner.Intermediate: She actually contributed a bit to the discussion with a few questions which helped the instruction along and made the points interesting.Advanced: Well, I found the person picked (Cole?) kind of wooden. I think that someone that interacted more with good questions would have added value to the points being made.Overall, a great DVD.Constructive Criticism: Everyone knows that a DVD can contain a lot of content. I think I would have preferred to pay more and had a few more hours of examples and maybe some tournament footage that I am sure Daniel could have swung from his contacts. (Or send Travis in a black suit and white tie carrying a violin case ...) Jokes aside, the DVD was a little light IMHO. I would be very surprised if DN did not feel the same way because in the past he has always wanted to give value.Ok, it is discounted to the FCP community to $19.95 so it is at that price a good deal. The next one should cost more and have additional segments, and here are my suggestions:(1) A dozen situations that correspond to all of the FCP quizes he posted, but with DN live explaining in greater detail the whys and whats of the hand in question. Call it "FCP Quizes LIVE"(2) Daniel: Commentator at a final table film. This could be tough getting the rights to that film but there is enough activity now that Daniel should be able to get detailed film, and the rights to use it in his DVD free of charge, from someone. My guess that CAESERS would fall over themselves to get a plug in for their tournament room (kudos for them to take that step, btw, they caught Wynn napping by being the first to build that). It would probably be better to use actors and set up the entire final table to illustrate a number of themes.(3) Changing Gears: Examples.(4) "What just happened?" This technique has been used in television media for decades using the fact you *can* go back and replay the action to make a point. It is used in football, hockey, etc. so why not in poker? Instant replay. Show a hand and the action, then ask the question: "What happened there and why? Then replay it so we can learn from the action and see what Daniel sees, ... up to a point of course.(5) "Poker Studio" You may have seen the show "Actors Studio" where a moderator discusses an actor's biography and fields questions from a small audience on acting. Why not do this on poker? A Moderator would go over DN bio (good publicity value), throw in a casino plug (again good value), and field the questions in a semi-formal environment. Make the questions hard. It is ok for DN to actually salt in tough questions in a list to the Moderator that would ask those questions. This is a DVD, not live, so it acceptable to have (as part of the answer) a demonstration at a table of actors to answer the question. Sure it will look a little strange, but it allows hard questions to be asked, answered, and demonstrated. That is about it. As a business person, I really liked the cross mechandising in the DVD, with the STACKED chips and logo use. Very smart. All and all, a super effort and I hope another one is in the works for next year.Sorry about the long post and I hope the ideas prove interesting.
dlingdling 0
Ordered mine only a few days ago, and it arrived today. A very pleasant surprise in the mailbox! I've watched a little bit of it tonight. Already I know it's a strong product because I feel like even more than the beginner I am. Time to get back to the DVD and study up...
lucky_charmz 0
I got mine last night FINALLY! I watched the whole thing last night and I've gotta say that I was impressed. I really like DN's ideas of about betting systems and the tips on identifying your type of opponent was also really helpful. Overall a really good type of product that I would reccommend.
