GrinderMJ 0
I'm gonna go play in the Wednesday 100+15 NLHE tournament on the Suncruz casino ship leaving from Port Canaveral sometime in January and I was wondering some things about structure and number of entrants. If anybody has played in this event before I could use info about 1. Are there a lot of entrants, and is there a fight over tourney seats? 2. How terrible is the blind and payout structure? 3. How long the tournaments take on average? If any central florida posters have played in any of these tournaments please post in here and give me some info, thanks

I'm also going to play in that wednesday tournament. I talked to a friend who had played before and he said it wasn't bad at all, he made it to FT just by cruising. He did say that the blind structure was quick, i think he said 15 minute levels.

MrB 0
1.)These tourneys usually cap out around 120 players, but they would always filter in alternates. I haven't bothered to participate in one of these for over a year now, so my info may be dated. Get there about 45 minutes to an hour before they sail and get your name on the tourney sign-up list and you shouldn't have a problem. (You'll see a group of dealers standing by a white board either just outside or inside the boat putting games together.)2.)Nine spots are paid...sorry, I can't give you the percentages. You start with $10K in chips and $100/$200 blinds with 15 minute blind levels. Blind structure is something like:$100/$200$200/$400$300/$500$500/$1000$1000/$2000$2000/$4000$4000/$8000$5000/$10000$10000/$20000$20000/$40000$25000/$50000There might be a $3000/$6000 level...I don't remember. Regardless, these tourneys become crapshoots very quickly. 3.)You have slightly less than four hours of gaming time on these cruises and they tourneys usually always finish prior to that. ALL__DAY 0
The tournament usually has approximately 110 players, and many are complete donks...Just wealthy guys having fun...You don't need to arrive as early as the previous poster suggested. You can actually get there at 6:55 and be fine. Because of Florida's gambling laws, you can't start playing 'til you get several miles off shore, so you have about 15 mins to hang out on the boat before picking your seat. You do not get to choose your own seat. You select a card "out of a hat"... and on that card are your table number and seat number. You start with 10k in chips and blinds start at 100/200. Blinds increase every 15 mins (approximately 1 table orbit) and are as follows:100/200200/400300/500500/10001000/20002000/40003000/50005000/1000010000/20000The payout for first place is usually around $3600 (and a nice illuminated trophy), second receives approximately $2200, and third receives approximately $1300. After third place, the payouts drop considerably, but they are still decent. Everyone at the final table at least gets money back. You may also want to consider the Thursday "Beginners" tournament... $60 buy-in rather than $115...and the field usually consists of approximately 65-75 players... You don't have to be a beginner to play, but its name and buy-in definitely attract worse players...Hope this helps...

theresa113 0
I played in it twice. Made the final table the second time but was short stacked and the first out. Had Pocket Jacks and the guy behind me has pocket aces. Oh well.I like the boat a lot. Some horrible players, some OK players and a few decent players. I like it better than the Hard Rock. Best part of it all... No Smoking at the tables!
