JEDI_Master 0
I am a low/mid limit player. I play about 15-20 week live, as there are no casinos where I live, nearest would be 3hrs 1 way. I started about 2 yrs ago w/ a $250.00 online bankroll, re-loaded twice at $200.00 each time when I realized I was playing over my head and playing too much. My online bankroll is now near $1250.00, I play about 40hrs per week online $5 MTT's/ SNG's and .25 / .50 limit poker. My live cash game bankroll which I started playing with 2 yrs ago of $2,000.00 has fluctuated many times as I went bust twice but overall I am up about $1,500.00 The point I am getting at is, when I play my best I am a winning player, but I do not have the time to put in at the levels I play to really build my bankroll for the goals I have. I am considering setting aside a savings plan from my earned income in order to gett my poker bankroll up to where I need it to be able to play in bigger events. Lets face it, unless a player can play in bigger events you will never hit a big payday, and with a $3-$4,000 bankroll I cannot afford to go to Vegas and play in the Belaggio $500.00 weekly or go to a major event and buy in to the sattelites etc that will land you in a major. When a player wants to make the next jump, if they are unable to build their bankroll playing poker alone they must do what it takes! Phil Ivey used to go back and Telemarket averytime he went bust. I am confident that given the opportunity I would have just a good as chance at getting to the money as any of these knew hotshots! These guys win 1/2 million bucks after playing poker for 1 year because they won their way into a major. I realize that most of the real money making pros are grinders and that the tournament trail holds a negative expectation but the fact is all it takes is one top finish in a major and a reasonable person could be set! I'm just sharing some thoughts, I have been playing poker my whole life, holdem and tournaments seriously for the past 2 years and I see these 22 yr old kids winning millions, i realize they are talented but lets be real here, you cannot win big money unless you play for big money! Maybe living in Ohio is a real problem...lol Feel free to comment, suggest etc..
Jadaki 0
If you got 1200 in your online bankroll, play 2/4.

dms26 3
If one of your goals is to play in the 500 bellagio tournies, then you should be playing online tournies and doing well right? You can make plenty of cash playing in online $10 buy in's on sites like Pokerstars. Also how do you play mid limits live and .25/.50 online?
LaydownKing 0
Go to a bank and take out a $10,000 loan to start a business, and play 30/60 on party.
Socko669 0
Dude if you want too take a shot at the big tourneys on your budget dont fret...there are only about 50 billion online satellites to play every week...
Sushiman 0
Yea seriously, having a low bankroll does not mean you have no shot at big money with all the satellites running nowadays. Play some $50 or $100 MTTs if you really think you are that good and if you can cash consistently you should be well on your way to a good roll.
Mattnxtc 0
no way you are playing midlimits with either of ur bankrolls..ur bankrolls combined dont even come close...so heres the real question...are u doing well at .25/.5...if so look to move up limits..though u have a br good enough for 2/4..i would take some time at .5/1 and 1/2 first...just to make sure u have a handle on it before getting into some better games... JEDI_Master 0
The only game available where I live is on the weekends 5/10 & 10/20, I usually play 5/10 about 10-15hrs per/week live action. online is where i play closer to my bankroll at .50/1.00$ But as I said it is difficult to build the type of bankroll just playing poker at the limits I play. This leaves me w/ options of playing over my head risking ruin to get to where I want or setting aside a savings plan from my earned income to get to where I want. My goal is to build a 20,000 - 30,000 BR and go west and try to build up to the big time tourney scene. Maybe I am not realistic, but how do 22 year olds play in major events? They obviously didnt build their stake soley grinding from 1 limit to another? At some point a gamble must be taken to reach the bigger money.
