RhinestoneCowboy 2
Since all the players are gone I can't get any chip counts until the next level begins. I did manage to see Farha has 40.5k and Negreanu is down to 3k. :cry:NOOOOOOO. He said it wouldn't end like this. He said he was going to play his best and do some damage in the main event. WHY GOD WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?  [sw]
insano 0
Daniel MUST get some momentum after this break. Or else he will continue to beat himself up until he gets eliminated. His cold streak certainly is affecting his game. He should take some lessons from Dutch Boyd. He seems to have really "turned it on" lately. [sw]
ajs510 122
How in the world can you say he's off his game when he took two brutal bad beats on the river? Daniel's whole World Series performance should be catalogued in the Bad Beats forum, it's just luck after the chips are in.

ek703 0
DN does need to catch a hand, but I am more worried as to whether he is still stuck on the table with Farha. Sammy made it in 2003 with what was widely considered his aggression more than his hold'em skill. Either way I hope DN outlasts moneymaker.

SAM_Hard8 50
2005-07-08 13:39:00 Title: Ladies and Gentlemen Mr. Phil Hellmuth Log: The man without an alarm clock, Phil Hellmuth, has arrived on the scene. This is Hellmuth's last chance this year to tie Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson for most world series bracelets all time.
ek703 0
How many years does everyone think it will be until Phil Ivey holds that record? 7 or so is my guess. Is he playing today I didn't see him on the earlier list.
RichBlaze 0
Tobey Maguire Eliminated Log: With the flop showing Kc-Qc-8c, Tobey Maguire and Young Phan fire bets and raises and reraises back and forth at one another until finally Maguire says "I'm all-in." Phan, apparently looking to be refunded the $8.99 he spent on seeing "Pleasantville" on Spectra-Vision at the Ramada in Tunica, calls. Maguire shows K-K, while Phan shows A-A (one is a club). The turn is the 10d, keeping Maguire ahead, but the river is the 2c, giving Phan the nut flush and sending Maguire to Ride with The Devil.
edalzell 0
Kathy Liebert EliminatedLog: Kathy Liebert got all of her money in after a flop of 7-2-2. She was called by one opponent. Liebert showed A-3 and her opponent showed 6-5. The turn was a decent card for Liebert, a 3, making her a pair, but it also gave her opponent a gutshot straight draw. The river brought a 4. Liebert's opponent hits his gutshot, and sends her to the rail.---Man, I hope it either wasn't much money or there was a flush draw, otherwise calling all-in with 6-5 ain't that great!! ek703 0
calling an all in w/ 56 is definately kind of odd especially with a paired board. I would guess there must have been a flush draw.
nutonflop 0
I hate stupid people.Date / Time: 2005-07-08 12:11:00 Title: A Field of Ringers Log: Only the best and brightest play in the "Main Event." We've got a young lady here who has won her seat online and has never before played in a live game, and Card Player also witnessed a player who needed to be instructed on what a "showdown" is and when it happens. HOW DID THESE PEOPLE GET INTO THE DAMN TOURNAMENT?!i was thinking about this. at these double shootouts on ps, there literally are about 4 total idiots who go all in withing the 1st 5 hands tripling on of them up. id say if they can pull off a win after that hand 1 in 4 times then therir will be about two of them,s ometimes 3 at the final table. now lets say they do the same at the final table. so, basically 1 in 10 ps players is a total doucheclown? Stylin_Fish 0
Here is some good news.Daniel Negreanu just doubled up at the feature table. He got all-in with Ah Qh v Qc Jc. The flop is Qs xs xc, turn Kc, and river... 5d. Negreanu survives after a scarey turn card. Most of those times you can easily double up against a donkey who triples up on the first hand with 28 because now they have a chip lead and are willing to call stupid crap to try to knock you out. You also didn't factor in if you're the one that triples or quadruples up the first hand because your AA, KK, QQ holds up(if you get that dealt)

ek703 0
DN just doubled up to roughly 5K, w/ AQ against QJ i thinkWhere did you see that? I think i saw that one on pokertrails, but I actually heard it from first because I was on the phone with my friend who was playing in the event but went bust. He was near the table when it happened. He said DN appears to be in good spirits, but of course doesn't he always seem to be having a blast even after getting sucked out on twice in the biggest event of the year. anselm 0
Cardplayer's gone batty: John Bonetti was in the hand with four other callers, including actor Nicholas Gonzalez. The flop came all rags and Gonzalez made it $2,200 to go. Bonetti pushed all in. The turn and the river were both rags and Bonetti's 10's never improved and he was eliminated by Nicholas Gonzalez. This makes no sense whatsoever. I've re-read it multiple times; anybody else get what happened? A board of all rags vs. pocket 10's seems to imply Bonetti wins...Plus...After laying low for the first level, Irv "Gotti" Lorenzo has made his presence known. After seeing a flop of K-10-5, Irv "Gotti" pushed all in. He was called by the player in the five seat, who turned over A-K. Seeing his opponent turn over top pair did nothing to affect Lorenzo's demeanor and he showed pocket 10's. After shouting out "No King baby", Irv "Gotti" was pleased to see the turn card was a 3 and the river was a 9. Lorenzo doubled up to around $17,000.Why would he shout out "No king!" when a king gives him a full house vs. his opponent's trips? Unless we're talking runner-runner here, a king and a rag is hardly going to bust him...
