FCP Bob 1,320
So I wonder if this conversation would have taken place if the rule in question would have happened. Put yourself in the shoes of the Tournament Director of the EPT who was first to implement this rule. Hi Poker Stars senior management. I want to implement a new rule that most of the players who you sponsor will not like and change something that nobody has really complained about. As a result of this rule change those sponsored players who you pay a pretty nice amount of money to won't be able to interact with the fans on the rail like many of them have done in the past and give them autographs or take pictures with them since if they leave their seat they risk being dealt out of the next hand. On breaks they don't have time since you know they have to eat and use the washroom.
MPaler 72
You came in here and wrote 5 of the most boring paragraphs ever formed in English, specifically to troll DN, and We're the trolls. Get serious with your life. At least I can write, not just post a pic of the inbred hall of fame all time problem solver. Spare me slick; you're just upset I called out your boy. Get over it. And for gods sake, do something about your family tree; it looks odd with only one branch.

David_Sklansky 1,903
Spare me slick; you're just upset I called out your boy. Get over it. Not sure if you were around back then, but McGee's first account was back in 2004 was banned pretty early on for flaming people who thought it was racist for DN to wear blackface in a comedy skit he did. So let's keep his defense in that context.
rcgs59 15
Kind of hard for any of the big money tourney players to attend the TDA conference when it's scheduled for exactly the same days as the Big One For One Drop. They are busy playing the WSOP and they shouldn't be expected to focus on what the bureaucrats who administer tournaments are going to decide is best for their customers. so obviously the players need to push the TDA to make it at a time better suited for players to attend. Like before the WSOP starts. I see Daniel's point just do not like the way he came off or comes across

MPaler 72
Watch this; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qli7YjwNhyo Now, tell me he wasn't delaying the game on purpose. Does anyone seriously think he did not know he had to show the camera his cards? Was this Trans first game? What I am saying is that some players will do just about anything to delay. They want to pressure the shorter stacks, and you always hear complaints of this being done. So, I doubt the rule just popped up out of thin air. You have to try to cut off the options for players who will do this. Not saying DN is delaying the game on purpose, but I just do not think it's too much to ask to be ready to go when the cards are in the air. The game is not there so players can talk to fans at the rail. The game is not there so players can sign autographs during gameplay. The game is not there so players can catch up on old times with fellow players at other tables during the game. The rules are not put in place by consensus, with every player getting a say. The rules are not put in place for sheets and giggles. And Marafiati was right; not only do these guys wait all year for this, it's not exactly chump change for an entry fee. At least not to everyone. So it really sucks to be sitting at a table with fewer hands per hour than should reasonably be. That goes for any game, not just the WSOP but the EPT as well. king_tanner 84
I think purposefully stalling and standing up are two different things. Yes, something should be done in the rules about people who overtly stall like the guy in the video you posted, but I don't think it is comparable to Daniel standing up near his chair when action isn't on him. No, I get that. Yet you cannot weed out the honest from the dishonest so easily, right? So, you make a blanket rule. Sucks, but there it is. Those NOT stalling get caught up in it as well. Plus, I just do not believe he was not pushing the envelope on purpose. He has raged on and on about this rule, which does not help that impression. Also, anytime someone has to make close calls for a living, some are going to go correctly, some not - as he just found out. Still, he certainly could have simply stood up facing the table, right in between his chair and his spot at the table (verses behind it with his back turned). He need not have gotten distracted talking to a player at another table and not been aware of what was going on. I highly doubt a player of his caliber is not always aware of what is going on, anyway, so it seems deliberate to me. He makes it sound like he is being chained into one position for the whole game and is not allowed to move enough to suit him. Facing the table action at all times might be considered chained to it, yet is it really to much to ask? Had he been facing the action. I seriously doubt he would have had his hand mucked. Yet, doing this and causing problems is one way of attempting to get the rule labeled as impossible to fairly enforce and thus thrown out. I doubt that is going to happen. MPaler 72
Have you ever been diagnosed with Asperger's? Can you spell that without spellcheck, or pronounce it without hearing someone else do so first? Lets check your webcam....lets see who you are..... Ah, yes, thought so. Congrats on 7,098.
