Fujo 0
Hey guys, Just wondering what people's opinions are on which is program is better and how? I have just downloaded the trial for PT4 and am going to use it for a few days before trying HM2 but I wanted to get some advice from people who have been using either or both for a while. I play on pokerstars and only small stakes hold'em at the moment and I don't multi-table [although I am considering this in the future]. What I'm looking for is something easy to use that will give me a a clean hud and good, useful statistics. I've come across a few threads on this but they seem to quickly turn into a childish pissing competition - I just want some honest impartial advice. Thanks in advance for your help. David_Sklansky 1,904
I would be too, if this were 2+2. Or 2007. HEM2
Fujo 0
Thanks for the input. Guess I am a bit late to the game so! Are there any particular reasons why you prefer HEM2?
David_Sklansky 1,904
Functionally, it really doesn't matter. If you are running it off a laptop from 2008 or something, PT4 is supposed to run better, but I will assume you have a reasonable system. HEM2 has a lot of awesome stuff that I don't actually use, like cloud stuff and an iPhone app, but mostly it just runs smoother importing hands. HEM2 also looks much better, and HEM has always been really good about support. It was buggy at first and people didn't like it apparently, but I haven't had an issue. They probably both do a billion times more than either of us can make use of, though, and I think the smoother imports, the support and the aesthetics are more than enough to make it my pick. But I had no complaints about the last generation of managers either, so I'm not exactly a power user.
pokerplayerplayer18 0
ii just cant figure these things out. any other more player friendly versions out there? PT i think is horrible and just so confusing BOOM FIRST POST
David_Sklansky 1,904
Only a tiny percentage of the players who use these programs take advantage of features you aren't interested in. If you just want to keep a database, run a HUD, and look at you own basic stats and graphs now and then, that's probably the most typical user for these programs, and it shouldn't take you 30 minutes to get comfortable doing that. Download the free trials and mess with them.
j-roc 0
Why doesnt anyone use Poker Office? I feel its a superior product and use it myself. Ive used PT and HEM, but switched to Poker Office after always having to buy different versions of each. theres a free trial if you want to give it shot. I think its better than the rest and you only need to buy 1 license to have Omaha and all the stakes. None of that small limit license, and omaha license. http://www.pokeroffice.com/
vincenttafolla979 0
I have read an amazing article on Poker Tracker VS Holdem Manager. You may get your required information from here. http://www.pokerleakbuster.com/pokertracker_vs_holdemmanager.html
kittens12 0
Hello I hope this will help It's a comparison of pt and hm.
acenapot 0
For me, PT4 is faster than HM2 but I prefer HM2 because, there are a lot more add-ons than PT4. Well doesn't really matter what you use, both has its pros and cons. i do suggest you get yourself Leak Buster, it works for both.
pokergamer88 0
Im the same, I prefer HM2 because it gets a lot more support and has more expansion available than PT4 but PT4 had the better performance overall though
MonkeyTilt 0
I've always been a fan of Holdem Manager over Pokertracker but over the last year or two it feels like PT4 is more popular due to not needing as good a computer. I'm sure though that HM2 offers the best analytical function of them all.
TrainRay 1
both has their pros and cons . for me it's HM2 not because its better, I just prefer it.
