serge 904
There is a town in Belgium called Kessel-lo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kessel-Lo Its name is derived from "Kessel" (from the Latin "Castellum" for fortress, referring to a fortress that once stood on the kesselmountain) and "Lo" (forest clearing They also have a local beer called Kessel's Blond If Kessel means fortress , shouldnt he be good at defending? serge 904
I read thru the 16 pages again. It's a good read. We start by analyzing trade. Then the rise to one of the top players in the league to this. It's a like a Shakespeare play. Hopefully it's not ending in tragedy, but I think it will unfortunately. Tragedy isn't death. It's being run out of town and getting traded.

Pens fans will get excited, leading them not to see his one dimensional play. He will go in a slump, it will grow into bigger slump. He will try to impress his new team by playing a game he doesn't want which will lead to him missing games. Good bye Phil. Ty for the ride.
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
Nothings changed for some of us. Once a Whaler, always a Whaler. (well, until someone offers us McDavid, or $50k in a 3way where Kessel goes to the Cheap Thieves, and a vegan eats a burger)
serge 904
Happy National Scallops Day buddy. Oh ya Happy Birthday too.
serge 904
Pretty nice goal for Kessel who now has 100% of the Pens goals for the year..Had nothing to do with Crosby as Kessel just stole the puck from Doan and wristed a snipe in.
Zach6668 513
Yeah, it was vintage Kessel. He's looked great out there.
serge 904
Yeah, it was vintage Kessel. He's looked great out there. He always looks great when things are going good..Not trying to troll him, and put him down..But I literally watched 85-90% of his shifts in the 6 years he was a Leaf..There are stretches where he creates a scoring chance every shift he is out there.. He has amazing ability, speed and offensive creativity..But when that 8 game streak hits when there is no goals..Watch out, because he turns into a totally different player... I guess you can say that about a lot of one dimensional scorers.
Zach6668 513
You've called him an underrated passer like a million times, so he's by definition not one-dimensional... but yeah, goal scoring is streaky, it happens... it's fine because Pittsburgh literally has 6 forwards capable of scoring 30 goals. Their offense will start to click soon, and when it does, look out.

I think he should be playing with Nick Bonino

gruven 530
Didn't see all the game tonight, but impressed with what I saw. Very entertaining. Lots of stuff to build on. I watched it all. It was a highly entertaining game. I would say the better goalie won.
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
I watched it all. It was a highly entertaining game. I would say the better goalie won. I watched about half. I thought Kessel looked like Kessel. Crosby was good, but not his usual self. Mike Smith was unreal. I dont get him, its only 2 games, but he looks nothing like the weak link he was last year. My post was just making fun of Serges Kessel troll job, by copying his Leafs post that was all rainbows+sunshine on a loss.... Didn't see all the game tonight, but impressed with what I saw. Very entertaining. Lots of stuff to build on.
serge 904
So you trolled a troll post. Makes you a double troll?
digitalmonkey 929
I've been watching hockey 40+ years and I've never seen a shot go off the crossbar and into the players bench like Kessel's shot last night. It's actually 45+ years, but I don't know if I'd remember seeing it as a toddler.

gruven 530
Crosby -4 Is this going to be one of those years where your only joy is trying to denigrate the teams and players above the leafs in the standings?
serge 904
Is this going to be one of those years where your only joy is trying to denigrate the teams and players above the leafs in the standings? Seriously? Dale made a post and I added to it. By stating he was minus 4. Which is a fact
