Banner17 0
Recently, there has said to be crazy action in Bobby's Room at the Bellagio. 2,000-4,000 mixed games, 1k-2k PLO and 15k a point Chinese poker. I don't work for the IRS just curious, can poker players invest some of their winnings into stocks and real estate? How does a successful player go about handling their winnings? Balloon guy 158
Smart poker players find ways to make money outside of poker. As far as those games, they aren't making any money until they cash in the chips.
Suited_Up 2
can poker players invest some of their winnings into stocks and real estate?Nope. We've got laws against that son.

I don't work for the IRS just curious, can poker players invest some of their winnings into stocks and real estate? How does a successful player go about handling their winnings?Of course they can. That being said I'm sure they are claiming poker as their profession, so they are still obligated to report those winnings-losses as income. They can invest however they want, but they couldn't win 75,000, and then just flip it into a portfolio and not be liable for the winnings, as it is taxable income.
