Rules Cash Game Right Or Wrong?

Recommended Posts

Here's the hand in question 3 players in the hand 2-7 triple draw NL2 draws left, player A draws 1 card, player B draws 1 card , player C draws 1 card.player A checksplayer B bets $5player C raises to $12A says "fck 82345" and proceeds to fold B then says "8642x" and also folds.A and B are buddies regs that chat with each other pretty much daily , C is an unknown. Now is it against rules to call out your hand in a cash game when there's still action? I emailed stars and heres what support said to me , I dont know what the correct rule is but by player A calling out his cards before player B folded makes his decision alot easier imo. Here's what support said.Thank you for your email. In a cash game, players may reveal the contents of their hands at anytime because it is to their disadvantage. It is considered very poor etiquette but not in violation of the rules. I hope that helps. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can do for you. Regards, LarryPokerStars Support Teamthoughts comments???

I think that's the standard in most card rooms/casinos too.

In a Live or online cash game:When it's heads up, say anything that you'd like. But, when there are three or more players in a hand, don't talk about your hand or hand possibilities (in any game). This could be considered collusion.

Hrm.Are their cash game and MTT rules different?I had someone announce QQ in chat, then shove, and get called and actually had QQ. Talked to Stars support out of curiosity and they informed me that it was against their rules and that a repeat offense would evolve to disqualification.

IMO if it's not heads up, it's against the rules to reveal your hand because you're giving the other player who is yet to make a decision valuable information. If he said it after the hand, then it'd be fine.I could be wrong, but I shouldn't be.

The correct answer is: stars support didn't even read your e-mail. After a quick skim they said, ahhh someone else complaining about revealing their hand while playing. Lets see here, according to my chart, that is form letter 47B. *click* *send* another problem solved!

I emailed stars again with thisAre you sure this is correct? 3 players in the hand at this point. I can understand if its only 2 players, but not 3 or more. I posted this on a poker forum and the reply is that it may be considered as colusion.Larry repliedThank you for your email. What you were told on the forum is accurate. It could be considered collusion if we were able to determine a relationship between this and another player as well as conclude that there is an intent to aid another player. If he was attempting to aid another player, speaking through the chat window would be the worst means in which to do so. I hope that helps make sense of the matter. Best of luck in the games. What idiots. So basically they are saying, it's simply bad etiquette, unless it's collusion. I guess they do this every day so they can't think outside the box about it. They think of collusion as only when they can PROVE players are assisting each other in tandem to gain an edge against remaining opponents. If they thought for one second, in a case like this, even if you can't prove any "formal" collusion, it's clearly beyond "bad etiquette" to reveal your hand with action still behind.Honestly, they have their blinders on so horribly in this response basically saying "no one would be stupid enough to collude using the chat box....so it's just bad etiquette, but okay."that's just not right.
