Iam at home today so gl daniel and tidDaniel Negreanu's Goal in LifeMonday, After seeing the dealer count out the deck after a hand, Daniel Negreanu asks him if he didn't just do that a few minutes earlier. The dealer informs him that they have to count the deck twice per button round. Negreanu is shocked at this, calling it a silly rule. He wonders what kind of problem they have had in the past with players holding on to cards. Negreanu declares to the table, "I'll get this rule changed. It's my new goal in life." Kerstin Tooley is the sole woman at Table 27, seated next to Daniel Negreanu. She raises from middle position to 3,000, and takes the blinds and antes. The next hand, she says, "I enjoyed that so much, I'll try it again." She raises from early position to 3,000, and everyone folds again, and she takes the blinds twice in a row. Daniel Negreanu, with about 23,700 in chips, says he folded pocket fives, and Donald Lloyd says he folded pocket sixes to her. Negreanu tells Tooley that she must be pretty respected to have two players lay down pocket pairs to her.

Just in case you were wondering, the odds of flopping a royal flush are 1 in 649,740.
What are the odds of someone having a Royal Flush and someone having a straight flush?

There are now 126 players left in the field, and since they fit at 14 tables, there is no more need for Table 15. So Barry Greenstein, Gavin Smith, J.C. Tran, and Mike "SirWatts" Watson are spread out to open seats at other tables. J.C. Tran takes a seat at Table 10, which becomes our new featured table. Here's the lineup for seats 6-9:Seat 6: Steve-Paul Ambrose (WPT Bahamas winner, 2006)Seat 7: Joe Sebok (Seventhbok'd two WPT events)Seat 8: Lee Markholt (WPT Reno winner, 2008)Seat 9: J.C. Tran (WPT Reno winner, 2007)Squeeze? You be the JudgeMonday, October 13, 2008 04:44 PM PDT A player in middle position raises to 5,000 and another player in late position makes the call. Online volume tournament player, Christian "Charder30" Harder, bumps it up to 18,000 from the small blind. The original raiser folds, and then, without too much thought, the other player folds Queens face up.The table can not believe the fold. The player that folded queens emphatically claims that for Harder to make that play he had to have had him beat with aces or kings. Harder now has about 118,000. would anyone else fold pocket Queens to him?

Gavin Smith Leads the Field After Day 2Monday, October 13, 2008 07:09 PM PDT After three start days, The North American Poker Challenge finally put all players in contention for the World Poker Tour Title in the same room. 275 players stated the day at noon, occupying every table in the tournament area. Many short stacked players were eliminated early in the day, including Mark Seif, John “The Razor” Phan, and much to the dismay of Canadian poker fans everywhere, Daniel Negreanu. Negreanu never seemed to be able to get much going and was eliminated when he ran his Ace-Queen into the pocket aces of his opponent.Softening the blow of Daniels exit is the resurgence of fellow Canadian, Gavin smith. Smith is originally from Guelph, Ontario which is less than 80 miles away from Fallsview Casino. Gavin not only has a World Poker Tour Championship under his belt, but in Season Four earned the title of WPT Player of the year. His cashes in major tournaments over the past year have been few and far between, however, with the chip lead at 405,900 Smith has set himself up for a deep run. The chips did not come easy though, as he sat at easily the toughest table of the tournament so far. He was joined by three other WPT Champions in Mike “Sirwatts” Watson, J.C. Tran and Barry Greenstein. Smith seemed to thrive in the tough competition as he built the majority of his stack while seated at the table. In fact, while Smith was on the uptick at the table, the three other players all saw their stacks diminish.Play ended after five levels and additional ten minutes when we hit the magic number of 99 players. Some notable players that will return tomorrow to join Gavin Smith will be Kathy Liebert, “Miami” John Cernuto, Joe Sebok, Lee Markholt, J.C. Tran, Barry Greenstien and the latest WPT poker made millionaire, Vivek Rajkumar. Here’s a look at our leader board going into tomorrow:1. Gavin Smith - 405,9002. Matt Matros - 383,8003. Vivek "Flog" Rajkumar - 342,1004. Ryan Fisler - 327,5005. Robert Cheung - 316,1006. Mark "ScrubberZ" Zajdner - 312,6007. Scott Wilson - 305,1008. Kathy Liebert - 298,300These players and others will be vying for a $4.37 million dollar prize pool that was announced early in the day. The payouts will start at 45th place at $ 17,498 CAD, just under twice the buy-in. As for the biggest paydays of them all, here are the payouts for the final six that make the televised final table:1st: $1,250,352 CAD2nd: $612,427 CAD3rd: $319,337 CAD4th: $262,469 CAD5th: $196,851 CAD6th: $153,107 CADJoin us tomorrow at 12pm ET when we return for more action at the North American Poker Championship where you can find up to the minute chip counts, live updates and video interviews by Amanda Leatherman.
