OK, I knew Obama was a bit of a socialist before this, but he's I didn't think there were any unrepentant socialists anymore. He's downright scary with his promise to spend and spend and spend no matter what. He's got nothing to say except "my big govt is better than your big govt."
/agreeMcCain is also getting Obama on the surge pretty good (as we thought, but done in a convincing manner)Obama was decent by re-confronting McCain... but it only helped to shore up dmg, imo

Lessons of iraqmccain - can not have a failed strategy, talking about needing additional troops, staregy that now has succeded, voictory and and honor, praises surge, stable ally, in we lost - more iranian influernce, wider war. we will come home victoriousobama - why did we go there, i opposed this war (in the illinois senate), because of afgan war... Spent 600 billion..lost sof stats he lists.. took eye off the ball, never hesitate to use force, but use wiselymccain - when we leave, obama said surge wouldnt work, didnt go to iraq for 900 days, chair person of nato committe that never had a meetingobama - relies on biden, tactic to contain the damage... says mccain was wrong at first part of warmccain tatic vs strategy...talks about re enlistment, cut of funding of troopsobama - very good retort on funding - goes back to wrong war ploy, outlines a timeline to leave iraqMcCain in a landslide

Obama rambling on the war.... he needs to stop... blah blah blah. And I agree with him more than I do McCain on this issue, but Obama needs to know when to say when. This is the first time I've seen Obama unscripted for any length of time, and I don't see where all the "great speaker" stuff comes from. Is it just his ability to deliver pre-written speeches? Cuz he's not showing it tonight.

Its all over you tube...pretty funny imo. Its a couple of years old at this point.
I actually remember it now that I saw the youtube clip.I find both the candidates attempts at one liners to be total lame potatoes. I would call it a draw at this point. McCain still comes off as more presidential talking about foreign policy whereas I think Obama scored big points hammering McCain on his support for GWB's spending (while promising under him it will be different). In short, Obama comes off better on economy and McCain comes off better on national security. Just like the polls reflect.

Obama is pwning on Iran. Sorry McCain, Obama successfully countered every point you've made. This notion of "legitimizing rogue regimes by meeting with them" is ridiculous. All you have to do is say "we hate what they're doing, we're meeting with them to find out how to make them stop."EDIT: Noticed I'd typed a Q instead of an N on the country, lol.

Iran:McCain - Irain is a threat to israel and region if they have nukes, forming a league of democracy, sanctions on iran, ties iran to iraq, Obama - republican guard is a terrorist org, fall of iraq makes iran stronger, policy over 8 yrs havent worked, game changer line on nuclear iran.. stronger sanctions. Wants to talk with iran.. says policy doesnt work of not talkingMcCain - meeting enemies with out pre conditions, legitimizes them. history lesson on russia,Obama, he can meet with who he wants says mccains advisors say to meet with out pre conditions, Mccain - bad joke, clarifies on kissinger, gives lesson on foreign policyI find Obama not a great speaker off teleprompter, mccain has always been a rough speaker

wrong. What gets played on ME television is not what we want them to hear but edited to do exactly what McCain said...legitimize them. Obamas attempt at parsing the "without preconditions" and claiming that Kissinger said that the President should do that was embarassing.

What about with my correction, I meant Iran instead of Iraq. I think McCain won the Iraq discussion.
I think that it is close... I dont know if there is a clear winner here honestly - depends on what your position meeting with rogue leaders
