Annoying Neighbors

Recommended Posts

I know there is quite a bit of people that have them. We have this complete total cuban assh0le that lives to our right. We've lived at our residence for the past 3.5 years now and this guy for maybe a year or so now. We've never really had a problem with him until recently. Apparently our property line is like a foot across the fence that the former owner of that house had, and I have no idea how this happened. Anyways, this guy has just been like a complete jerk, in doing everything he can to pretty much act as if that property is his. He's gone as far to parking a boat trailer out in front of his fence within a foot or so of our property line. In our township this is illegal and he has had it out there for more than 3 weeks without anything being done. He's tied one of those bungie cord line things with hooks to our fence just because his gate doesn't latch and close properly. We haven't really done too much but unhook the bungie cord, in which he has hooked it back to our fence countless times. Now he has this guy that has started parking pretty much right on the property line. I came home from work on Monday I put the garbage can as close as i could to his truck w/o touching the truck. He then decides to touch our property and put it [the garbage can] where he felt it was satisfactory for him. This is also where the county has told us to put our trash can at since we have a tree on the other side of the driveway, and they use an automated truck that lifts the trash cans up and empties them. I went outside Monday night & moved the trash can back to the spot I put it at, only for this guy to park his truck at the same exact spot that he parked at the previous day. The next day trash pickup came and couldn't pick up our trash because of where he parked. We are now left with leaving the trash out there. Then today before the guy left after parking in the same exact spot where he did the other day, he moved our trash can yet again. This time he moved it to the other side of our driveway. We have contacted our "township of Cutler Bay" without much success. what ways would you guys retaliate?edit: My girlfriend is cuban along with my step dad thus having no problems with cubans.

There is so much that annoys me about this post without even reading it. Lack of capitalisation, poor grammar, lack of punctuation, failure to bypass the swear filter, refusal to employ paragraphs... it is unreadable.Good luck with it, sorry I can't be of help.

yes it is quite difficult to read. is the fence on your property or his? is he saying you guys are using his property or vice versa? i don't really understand. can you draw an mspaint diagram? I actually may be able to help as I've had a similar situation but currently I don't understand any of it.

hope it's easier to read, also edited it a lil bit.the fence is like maybe a foot onto our property. once again, the guy that built the fence lived there before any of use. he would therefore be using our property.

If you let the fence stay for a certain amount of time, you actually lose that part of your property. It'll cost you but you you'd need to do a survey and contact a lawyer. As far as the other issues go, how about try talking to him? If he doesn't understand then you could have your wife translate.

he speaks perfectly fine english. he's just an ass in general. he's also putting up a lattes (the thing where vines or w/e grow on) up on the other neighbors fence so no one in our neighborhood really likes him. my step dad has tried talking to him but that has gotten nowhere.

so the fence is on your property? how did the property line thing come up in the first place? doesn't seem like it would be through something he did because then a) he would know the property wasn't his, and b) he wouldn't be making a stink about it. did you guys do something to bring attention to the fact that your property line is past the fence? either way, it doesn't really matter. your best bet would be to get your deed and tract map or whatever the hell they call them, and to even get a surveyor to come out and actually stake off the property line. that way you'll have concrete proof of it if you need to call the police on him for trespassing or destruction of property.mainly, be nice but let him know that you know where the line is and that you won't be budging. if it goes past that, then come the police and the lawyers (which it hopefully won't come to since that is quite expensive for a foot of land).

i think when he originally bought it from the former owner of property, they said it was his property. i think there are beams or something on the other side of the fence. but there were vines that were growing on the other side of his fence that was growing and coming on our side and my mom wanted to kill them with poison and he finally let her come to that side and spray. i think that's where the whole issue came about.

well in that case you're definitely going to want to get proof that it is your property, notarized survey and whatnot, because what gwcican'tremembertherest said is right. its called adverse possession, and while I don't know the exact amount of years someone has to claim a piece of property without objection, it is legally binding. better get the papers and move that fence.

yeah i hear ya. but you can get the whateverthefucktheycallit schematic of the tract of land that was made when the lot was first laid out. thats free at the local courthouse. or like 5 bucks to copy or something, not much. that and a tape measure should be enough to prove it and to make him realize he's wrong.

my mom said that we've already had it surveyed so we got the papers already.

Cuban is a nationality. What we really need to know here is, what race is he? Is he a white Cuban?A brown Cuban?A Cuban Negro?Obviously, how you deal with him will totally depend on this.I've found that white Cubans are basically the same as any other brand of white people. Boring, completely lacking a human soul, good planners, etc only with an accent. White Cuban women tend to have nicer asses than white wonderbread women. Brown Cubans on the other hand, I swear to god, every one of those ****ers is born with a fully diagnosable strain of OCD. A fussier race of people I've never encountered in my entire life, and that includes ancient Jews and German tourists. Everything must be precisely so or else they completely melt down and don't know what to do. They really, really suck and totally distinguish themselves from all other races of brown people. Cuban Negroes are what can be expected of any Negro, only slightly better behaved but less likely to have any formal education.

I would seriously consider hiring scram to write me a little article every day outlining his views on various races throughout the world, and possibly other musings.

I'm telling you, talk to a lawyer. It's going to be the only way you're going to get your property line reset. Also, you'll have to fork over half the cost of moving the fence back to it's proper boundary. This is kind of important when you go to sell your house. Basically, the person buying will have the platt and they will see the boundaries are wrong and depending on how long the fence has been there, the new boundary may be legally binding. You have to take part of the blame for letting your previous neighbor plant a fence on your property. If nothing else, you need to find out the time frame for disputing his fence line in your jurisdiction.

Your mother shouldn't have to deal with this issue IMO. Now would be a good time to go have the conversation with him about the placement of the garbage can, the property line and most importantly his comment to your mother. He sounds like he's a prick since he spoke that way to your mother. Any man that would make a comment like that to a woman needs to clearly have explained to him that from here forward he comes to you with any issues, not your mother. His reaction should be apologetic for the comment. If not, then you 100% know what you're dealing with and you can take appropriate action with the town government for parking issue, the police for the harassment issue and a lawyer for your civil issue.
