Zach6668 513
6-2-1 in the last nine..Thats a beatiful statThis prompted me to look up the Pens stats, not for comparison, but just for my own info, and interestingly, they have the same 6-2-1 record over that stretch. serge 904
who are these guys ??? looks like a completely new team as of late .. 2-0 1st int vs islanders and looking good , run for the cup ?? Nobody would listen to us when we said the start was not the true leafs...0-7-1 was just stupid ridicolous...7-2-2 last 11 games..This is the team that Brian Burke was selling us all year..We will make the playoffs. serge 904
While it may sound a little out there, The Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the top teams in hockey in the last 10 games. If we sneak into the playoffs(and there is no reason to think we wont) its not out of the question we will make a deep playoff run.I really wish Brian Burke would hold a press conference for the media that attacked this team early on and stare at them and say HAHA I TOLD YOU SO.With the addition of a solid UFA and the maturity of our younger guys ie Kadri , there is no reason why we wont be a cup contender in the very near future. The next two games will be tough, but if we can come out of Boston with at least a point and beat Washington somehow on Saturday we are poised to make a jump in the standings. Its so frustrating to see if we just picked up like 5 pts in the first 7 games instead of 1, we be in a playoff spot..Brian Burke , Ron Wilson and the rest of the staff have to be commended for not panicking, sticking to the plan and following through with the blueprint they set before the season.Howard Berger is eating his words. Governator 54
PS this was good last night: Back to back games against cup contenders will be a real task for them and possibly show just how improved they've become. I hope they come out playing hard for revenge on the Bruins tonight.

I hope they come out playing hard for revenge on the Bruins tonight. For the record , they beat the best road team in Atlanta and shut down one of the most explosive offensive stars in Kovalchuk. The teams is very confident now and if we pick up at least 3 pts in these next two games it will be huge..We just need to play consistent good hockey like we have... serge 904
Its going to be a tough one tonight...Its our 4th in 6nights, while the Bruins havent played since they crushed us Saturday..Ideally Kessel has a hat trick and Toskala shuts them out..But realistically this is one of the toughest tests we have had all year...I think if we win its a HUGE win, and if we lose its not the end of the world. All we can ask for is a good first period and a good effort..Lets hope we have some energy left in the tank.GO LEAFS GO

They've been playing 4x/week, will be a true test.
Speed Limit 0
The real question is if Rask gets another shot at shutting down the Leafs, or if it'll be Tim Thomas between the piping.

Speed Limit 0
After some checking, both goalies left the ice at the same time today, and there is no answer as to who will go yet. So it's a mystery I guess.

mase_gotsem 0
well they held there own and almost took the lead when kessel hit the pipes the score doesnt show how close it really was but the fatigue def set in late for the leafs due to the schedule. toskala been looking great also but long way to go doubt they make it well see
Speed Limit 0
toskala been looking great alsoI know he's been looking good of late, but this game I just thought he was pretty horrid. Stuart shot should never go in, and while the Morris shot had some obstacles in the way I think that one was pretty save-able as well.

serge 904
Was a tough spot last night, but we have to give the boys credit for battling...Came out flying in the third and almost tied it..The 5-2 score doesnt indicate how close the ending was...A very good effort but as expected its tough and they looked tired at times.Toskala made a lot of amazing and acrobatic saves, was lucky on a few occasions too..However he did give up a couple of softies.Overall he has looked much better. serge 904
Just wow....After a disastrous first period where the refs called one of the stupidest penalties I have seen, we played an amazing game..Beating the best team in the NHL and the sick line of Ovechkin,Semin and Backstrom ...Just wow..Toskala made some huge saves to keep us in there..WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Babying 613
All I can say is YES Baby. Leafs win, Leafs win, Leafs win.We tried to hound for some autos at the hotel the Capitals were staying at. The only guy that came out to sign was Eric Fehr. So my son thought ahead (1st time I think) and ran into the hotel. Of course with his eagle eyes he spotted Ovy walking with Backstrom. So my son pleaded with Ovy to sign and he sorry bud I can't do it.

Unfortunately the coach did not want size.

I heard he does not sign on game days and most likely Backstrom was going along with him. What I have heard is that Crosby signs (props for him) but only a few.

If he was in the hotel and walking, chances are good he was either on his way to a meeting or the bus... if you're Alex Ovechkin and you break stride to sign even one autograph, you're likely to get mobbed, that's why players try to keep moving sometimes. It's just not in Ovechkin's personality to be a dick, especially to a kid. One thing tho, he was quick to realize and despise collectors, so when guys show up with numbers for him to sign (that they will sew onto a jersey later), or books of cards or 8X10's, he shuts them down pretty fast..
