  1. Last night I played 3 SNGs. 1st, 1st, 1st.Its a great site. I think it is the best for SNGs on the net. UB probably has the best multis, but Bodogs SNG structure is great and and the play is super donkish.Plus, their MTTs usually have a ton of dead money. For instance, last night the $10k guranteed $15+$1 NL tourney had 450 or so players, meaning there was an extra $2250 Bodog threw into the pot. I would check it out. I don' play much limit so I can't give any advice there. All of the above is regarding NLHE.I played that tournament there were 570 players. I finished in 16th place and
  2. Great im happy for you but you obviously care somewhat since you spent time posting about this. To the OP i like to stack my chips in stacks of 10 and once i make a few columns i turn the stacks of 10 into stacks of 20.
  3. This has gotta be one of the dumbest things i have ever heard in my life..........
  4. When they say you need to use both of your hole cards it means that the guy needs to be holding AA for it to work. What they mean by having both of your cards play is that you need both of your cards to make the four of a kind hence the AA or KK. Now if the bad beat jackpot is one where it needs to be aces full of jacks or better for the bad beat(like it is at a casino near my house) then his AK would play or AQ or w/e. But when they say both of your whole cards need to play they are referring to the fact that you need both of them to make your hand and you are only using 3 community cards fro
  5. Sorry i wasnt clear earlier but i was interested in reading books on Tournament Poker. But thanks for the books you guys recommended so far im going to look into them.
  6. Hey guys i just read this book by Sklansky and i enjoyed it very much. I was wondering if anyone knew who he was talking about when he mentioned there was a player that used an "all in" strategy to finish second in the main event. Also i was wondering if anyone knew of any other good books to read....Thanks
  7. Side note to your side note....try 30% not 6%The US Government can only tax those who are legal residents. So seeing as how he is not a US resident but an Australian one and how he was here just for a tournament than technically the US cannot tax him the 30%.
  8. Hello i was wondering if anyone knew of any website that tracked player stats from party and empire poker.
  9. I was wondering if anyone knows the final amount of entries to this years main event. I know they were expecting 6600 but i believe i read in an earlier post that there were only 5300 registered as of early this week.

  11. Post by: lew189 06.20.05 - 12:22 pm you play much in "the big game?" Reply by: Gus Hansen 06.20.05 - 12:39 pm after licking my wounds yeap Ill be back Id like to know where he says that he owes the big game money by that statement?
  12. Why are they fishes? They have to do something right in order to be in that position to play in this tournament. I doubt you would call Johnny Bax (1 WSOP bracelet) or Allen Cunnignham (1 WSOP bracelet) fishes after their finishes in this years WSOP and incase u didnt know they both qualified for this years main event online (Johnny did it 5 diffrent times). So just cuz they come from the internet doesnt mean sh!t it actually might mean more cuz they probably play in more tournaments with huge fields than the average pro so that gives them an advantage that cash game pros or guys that just pla
  13. that's a completely different story than what i heard. i heard that he went to russia and teamed up with the russian space program to be sent to the space station for 6 months to evade doyle's cronies for owing 6.4 billion dollars to the big game. Why would he owe any game money. I doubt Doyle woudl stake him in order to play him since all your doing is making your own money back. Thats like when that goofball was asking people to give him 5 dollars so that he could play you heads up. Gus has stated many times that he lost in the big game but i doubt he owes anyone money for the reasons i stat
  14. Variance will catch up with you' date=' make sure you have enough of a roll to sustain the long streaks of not cashing that you will encounter.[/[/b']quote]I know variance will catch up sooner or later but i try not to play to many tournaments out of my means so as to keep my roll with sufficient money. I know im on a nice lucky streak but i do know that tournaments are probably going to be my future in poker.
  15. I was wondering how many of the people on this forum are strictly tournament players. I used to play mostly cash games till about a couple months ago when i played my first casino tournament and came in first and since then ive only played tournaments and seen my bankroll balloon as ive finished in the money in about 15 of the 40 or so live tournaments ive played with 10 final tables in those 15 finishes. My online track record isnt as good as my live one but im thinking of playing full time NL Holdem and Pot Limit Omaha tournys now as to me thats were i make my money? Anyone else use tournie
  16. I was wondering what the story was with him at this years WSOP as the only time i heard even a mention of his name was at the other days No Limit with rebuys event. Has he played alot of events or is he just coming towards the end to be fully concentrated on the BIG ONE? Also i was wondering if any one knew of any websites that tracked the poker tournament stats of most of the more and lesser known pro's.
  17. High Roller: The Stu Unger story is the title of the movie and the star is Micheal Imperioli from the Sopranos. I thought the movie wasnt all that bad i rented it from Blockbuster.
  18. $55 is the buy in and there are usually 130-160 people
  19. Just wondering if anyone out here from Miami, Fl is going to the Miccousukee poker tourny this Friday. First place pays out a grand so its not a bad investment. If your heading out let me know...
  20. Hello all i was just wondering on your thoughts on Todd Brunson. I read an interview with Doyle where he mentions that alot of pros have told him good things about his son and he has made a couple money fineshes in this years world series (I believe he is in the final table of Omaha Hi/Lo today). So i was just wondering if there is any bio or you guys have any of his accomplishments off hand because it seems like he might be the real deal. Thanks
